I have a 2015 ES so take most of suggestions with that in mind. I have done trips as long as 7000 miles and days as long as 700 miles. I am 6'2 or so. Had to switch to a Parabellum large windshield + winglets and I get no buffeting at all. Stock seat was terrible for me mostly, mostly bothered...
Overall I had a good experience at MR. When I got there the service writer told me it would be an extra 1/2 hour labor to check the air filter above what they originally quoted me. They finished everything up in about 2.5 hours including lunch for them. When I returned they told me they did...
I have an appointment at MR on Wednesday to get a front tire installed and an oil change. I visited them a couple weeks ago and they seemed ok. At least for what they quoted me their prices seem fair.
Thanks for the writeup. I plan to be in this area in August on my to San Diego. I will probably be riding Anakee 3's or Anakee Adventure tires. I ride mostly pavement. Any of these roads I should avoid?
I do remember. My wife and I started talking about moving somewhere warmer. We are thinking southeast rather than southwest and year round since my job is remote and I can work from anywhere.
I guess the first question should be how money is too much for any of these options? How much is the one-way trailer rental?
Next question. Who would want to leave Illinois in the winter?
I am in Cary too. Let's get together sometime soon. I get a very consistent 43 MPG. When I went to Colorado a few weeks ago and spent a lot of time doing 80-85 MPH I was getting closer to 35 MPG so I guess it depends on your mix of riding.
I ride 95% or more on-road. The only thing I would change is adding self-cancelling turn signals. She could be lighter, but that just isn't happening. I rode the FJR a month ago and I loved the motor, but the seating position would kill me on long days.
