    Honda NC750X

Gotta say, you've got me intrigued. I've got to move on to a lighter bike, and the DCT aspect has me interested. A reliable, comfortable, easy to ride bike fits the mold. The only things that made me hesitate were the low power and small tank. At this stage in my life, the speed days are behind...

    THREAD DRIFT/BLOAT - discussion

Can thread drift occur? Definitely, but I find the ratio of useful info to chaff about 75/25 so I'll let it ride.

    R1300GS...the what how why

As far as the markets for expensive motorcycles, cars, and trucks.....it's all about making people feel good about their purchases. If you can convince someone they'll be better off with a purchase, they'll go for it, cost be damned (see BMW GS).

    MT-01

If it's a good price and you love it and don't buy it, you can spend years kicking yourself in the ass for passing on it. If it's a good price and you buy it, you can ride it till you don't love it and then sell it. Does that help?

If you *had* to ride a different bike, what would you pick?

I did consider it. Unlike the CBX500, it has 17/17 wheels. I'd prefer a 19 front hoop for the dirt roads.

If you *had* to ride a different bike, what would you pick?

Dealing with CKD the last year and a half has taken a toll. Also turning 68 has made me realize the ST is just too big and heavy at this juncture. I need something smaller (under 500 lbs) but able to handle dirt/gravel roads.....nothing too gnarly. I prefer a 19/17 inch wheel setup. Power is not...

    The retirement thread

3 months after I posted this my kidneys started to fail. Some unknown infection caused my immune system to attack my kidneys. It's been a long year of recovery and I'm only at 30% efficiency. The treatment drugs took their toll but I'm getting some strength back little by little. Don't know if...

I'm looking for testers and opinions on Handguards Extensions (US)

I've used them for a year and they work. I had to zip tie them as a precaution, but they work to keep rain, wind, etc off my gloves and sleeves. Winds up making the heated grips more effective as well.

    speedometer error correction

Most of the ones I check, yes. 40-65 mph it seems to be within 1-2 mph according to my gps. All my previous bikes were always about 10% off everywhere.

Unless it's from one of your S10 seat bumpers, I'd say auto.

BMW recall 440,000 bikes....moments of appreciation

Instead of admitting a design flaw, you get “that’s the way it’s supposed to work” or “you’re not maintaining it correctly” Doing a soft recall after 9 years of production is ridiculous. Originally this was the design which was going to require no maintenance at all.
