You could use a veterinarian syringe with gasoline. I use it to remove golf grips. Inject some gas under the grip and work the gas around as you inject more.

I just sold a XS750 Special that I restored for my son to ride at college. It was a great bike for him and it had a top box for his helmet and gear while he was in class. Nice bike and the new owner is pretty damn happy.
