Awesome ride Steve, You guys really did get to places most riders never see. Your trip planning really took in some pretty remote areas. It was fun catching up with you on the North Canol.

Caught up with Steve Reno and his two riding buddies way up on the North end of the Canol Road. I can't wait to read his ride report! That boy leads out some pretty incredible rides.

You should ride in the north for a few seasons... If you want to get off the Alaska Hwy at all it is valuable to have a functional skid plate. Our secondary roads can be pretty rough at times... a bit more than occasional gravel roads. I use a little 300lb trail bike for off road. ::26:: ::26::

Nobody builds a good functional skid-plate yet... my FJ belly is currently bare and I would like something along the lines of the Super Altrider plate. The SW Motech belly pan is a bit like a bug spoiler.

I traded my Super for one and I like it. This is after 3600km in Alaska and Yukon including the D2D. Over 400km of rough gravel, summer only roads.

I don't know if they rebuilt the station, but I would only count on Dawson for gas in any case.

You are right little legs, every eighth of an inch counts when one is a shorty, but I always say - every hardware store sells ladders if you can`t reach, but try to buy a hole to stand in if you are too tall... ::26:: ::26::

We have about 5-6 Tenere in the Whitehorse, Yukon area and Yukon Yamaha has tires to fit our bikes. We are right on your route to Alaska. Yukon Yamaha is a very good dealership and will work hard to take care of Tenere riders. ::26:: ::26::
