    V85TT for now

Between my '21 and '23 I have 38,800 miles, plenty of cross country trips and no issue that has left me stranded. Only issues have been of the minor annoyance type and were taken care of quickly by the dealer. Not trying to convince you to try one. To each their own. All brands have some issues

    V85TT for now

You shouldn't say that until you've ridden one for a bit. Chassis dynamics are quite a step ahead of 99.9% of Japanese bikes.

    Short Key for OEM Panniers.

I have searched everywhere and cannot find the link. There was a thread that had the part number for shorter keys for the OEM luggage so the ignition key would not bend. Ant help with the part number would be appreciated. Thanks

    Honda NC750X

Got it! '21 NC750X. The '21 has many upgrades over the '20. Its a few pounds lighter, has a few more hp, a new dash, is 1/2" lower, and has a good suspension. Picked the bike up noon Friday about 30 minutes north of Charlotte, spent Friday afternoon riding Route 16 through NC and VA and...

What comes after the Super Tenere?

I rode a Versys 1000 recently. Was not impressed, AT ALL! Hit 5000rpm and the vibrations were terrible. Dirt Dad is right 1290 is great, 890 is even better :p. Honestly I don't know how it would be 2 up? GoldWing can go up dirt roads just fine and of all the bikes that have been mentioned...

What comes after the Super Tenere?

One friends '13 GS was a problem child for the 5 years he owned it. Finally the stator died at 40,000 miles and he traded it. For another BMW but the 850 which has been great. Another friends '10 or '11 GS has been bullet proof. Third friends '18 was in and out of the shop until he traded it...

    FJR 1300

Put 221 miles on the FJR today. Remembered what I love about them and if I ever had any dislikes they didn't seem to resurface. It's a lot of bike in the tight stuff, especially with dirty roads but we survived in good shape. At 5'7" it is a pleasure to be able to get on a bike without...

What comes after the Super Tenere?

Why? And if you don't mind me asking how many miles have you put on one that you are confident in it? Just asking because my BMW experience was both painful and expensive, and the bike never was properly sorted. People swear by them so they can't be all bad or all be bad however you choose...

    Chapter 11 - the KTM 890 Adventure R

My '23 890 rolled 16K miles today. As god as the '21 is this one is better. Really is a great all around bike.

    FJR 1300

The FJR has proven to be a great source of entertainment during the recent rotten weather. Not only did it get oil, filter, and final drive changed it got a thorough cleaning, new tires, brake fluid flush and all the missing push pins replaced. Bike is in excellent condition and now sorted to...

    Hello from northern Minnesota

Have to see what fees they are adding on. I bet the '23 gets a lot more expensive. I like the OEM Yamaha panniers and that's got to be a grand right there.

    Hello from northern Minnesota

Welcome Nate, As long as they're both ES than they are the same bike. Totally your call but a low mileage '18 should save you a bunch of cash over a new '23. Good news is you'll enjoy either of them.

How misinformation has slowly help kill the 1200XTZ

You would think if Yamaha wanted to it could build a 1200cc engine that has similar architecture to their 700 and plug into an S10 with very little effort. No one has ever said a bad word about the 700 engine and it will take an abusing. American Flat Track and MotoAmerica run them punched out...

    BMW GS 1300

Saw the new 1300GS today. I will get this out of the way up front I have no, as in 0 interest, was just at the dealer to say hello to friends that work there. I was literally driving right by the place. Anyway while I'm not a fan in general it is a better lookin GS. No more trellis frame...

    Chapter 11 - the KTM 890 Adventure R

Be careful it may not want to leave. They are famous for key fob issues. Wouldn't wish one of those on my worst enemy although in all fairness 1 in 5 seems to be somewhat trouble free.

How misinformation has slowly help kill the 1200XTZ

Say what you want the S10 soldiers on. Yamaha doesn't need to promote it, they sell out of however many or few they produce. Kind of like a can opener or a wheel barrow why waste money on advertising? S10 is not perfect and its a bit dated but no motorcycle is perfect and the newest bikes...
