    Most comfortable ear plugs?

A couple of ideas. For not to much scratch, you can order some variety packs from here to see which type work best for you: https://www.earplugstore.com/unfoamtrialp.html I've found that properly made custom ear plugs are painless all day. Their big advantage is that I can hear better with my...

What riding schools have some of you attended?

A couple of years back I did the Edelweiss Alps Prep Course. It was a nice one day overview of techniques for riding twisty mountain roads. It may be a bit basic for a lot of folks here, but even a training day in the Alps is fun. I've done about six California Superbike School (Keith Code)...

    USB Battery Pack Recommendations

Here's one of my favorites, and reasonably priced for what it has. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0746GQ7FS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The reasons I like it: 1. Can be taken on an airplane in a carry on bag (I like to do fly and rides). 2. Recharges electronics 3. Jump...

Replacement bulbs for front turn signal lights -- 2012 Super Tenere

Depends how much you want to spend. If you want brighter, you can get that with LEDs. And if you replace those gargantuan blinkers with something sleeker, I think it improves the look. And riding at night, I didn't like the way the light from the stock blinkers messed with my vision. I...

    MotoGP 2020 Season Salvage

I sure hope they end up coming to Austin in November. I've got my tickets and snagged a cheap room before the hotels figured out that the date had changed.

    Complete tool kit....

The four minimalist tools that go with me on bike trips to Europe are the Toolcheck Plus, a Leatherman Crunch (awesome), regular Leatherman (Wave or Supertool) and a small Nealy tire repair kit. I needed only the first two to swap the back footpeg to the front on a buddy's Multistrada on the...

Any way to tell if ecu has been flashed?

Hmm, interesting question. Anthony ("avc8130" here) is a resident expert and would know if there's any secret way to find out. As far as I know on my Gen 1 bike, the only way I can tell it was flashed is that the bike runs noticeably better than before. The good news is that an ECU can be...

By chance anyone have experience with a BMW f800 GT?

I rode one two-up for a week in Spain last year. It was terrific. Pluses are that it is light, very flickable, smooth engine, feels and looks like a real quality bike. The seat is very low...your friend will be able to two foot it at a stop, maybe even flat foot depending on his boots. The...

    Yamaha OEM panniers

I just put one of my Yamaha inner cases into one of my Triumph Expedition cases (the Triumph branded Givi 37L case, looks just like the one you have). It fits fine. It's slighty taller than the inside of the box (maybe because of the slanted corners on the box). But the top cover has plenty...

    Yamaha OEM panniers

Just measured my Yamaha inner bags and they are 13.5 inches tall (before being stuffed to the gills).

    Yamaha OEM panniers

Here are the bags that I think are made for those 37 L Givis: https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/givi-t506-waterproof-inner-bag-for-trekker-outback-37l-side-cases?utm_source=rtbhouse&utm_medium=retargeting&utm_campaign=rtbhouse-retargeting And here is a link to one source for the Yamaha inner...

    Yamaha OEM panniers

The bag is made to fit like a glove in the standard OEM side cases, not the Raid Edition (Givi) cases. But the standard cases are 29 and 32 L and the Raids are 37 L. So the bags should definitely fit, if a little loose. That said, I think they're great bags. I've had mine for several years...

    Attention getting, super bright taillights?

I have the Admore light bar with what they call "smart brake" technology...it signals when the bike is decelerating even if I haven't hit the brakes. My motorcycle buddies tell me it is super visible from a distance and really gets their attention (or drives them crazy, I'm not sure which). But...

    BoosterPlug

One of my other bikes is a 2016 Triumph Tiger 800 that can't readily be flashed. I have the Booster Plug. It reduces throttle touchiness that comes from running lean. So IMHO was money well spent. That said, AC flashed my Tenere ECU and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Where in the world to take the best Bike tour ?

I've done quite a few motorcycle rides in Europe. The Alps are terrific, a great combination of riding and sightseeing. In my experience, the classics, like Stelvio Pass, can been pretty crowded so while fun they aren't the most challenging. For the most challenges along with amazing views, I...

Happy 8th birthday! Who's still has their S10 from the first US batch?

I remember it seemed like forever waiting for my 2012 to arrive...I think I put down the deposit at least six months before it showed up (but I did get a great deal). I picked it up the day I left on a week long trip. Dropped it the first morning and dented the tank. Still have the dent...

    Start and stall-no start anymore

If you're not hearing the fuel pump and haven't accidentally hit the kill switch, I'd try jumping it first. Could be as simple as a bad battery connection or even a bad (although new) battery.

    FS: Grok Harmonizer

Some people wear $50 helmets and $25 gloves, and others wear $900 helmets and $200 gloves. Some fix their own bikes and others pay someone else. And some fixers use Harbor Freight tools while others use Snap On. It's all a matter of taste and perspective. Just because one person's preference...
