    Tenere 1200 Rental - Tools?

I don't know off hand if all of the Super Tenere are like mine, but the adaptor on my bike (2012) is the "hella" or "din" style plug, which means the receptable is a far smaller diameter than your standard cigar/cigarette style lighter plug seen in cars.

    NX 650 Dominator

Same in almost every way. but ratio between 1st and 2nd in the NX is much closer making the motor WAY better for the trails. A very popular 'upgrade' to the XR650L motor is to swap in an NX transmission (1st,2nd gears), but i happened to gain access to a full bike, so i just motor swapped.

    NX 650 Dominator

I have the NX650 motor in my XR650L .. much better transmission ratio for offroading. I wish i could have used the NX chassis, i like it far better than the XR, but well too many parts wouldnt line up.

    GPS &/or Phone App

I use GaiaGPS app, on my android tablet. allows me to import GPX track routes, does active re-routing, and handles on and offroad situations. It has its quirks, but it works for the riding I do, especially when i'm far, far offgrid that my Garmin GPS just shows a green blob for many miles in...

    Water Spots

don't try it on anything shiny! its a micro-abrasive one of my guys turned me onto it when i applied wax to the plastic bits that surround the shiny parts and everything turned white when it dried, magic eraser saved my sanity

    Water Spots

for the dull plastic parts, i give a gentle wipe with a magic eraser. then shoot with 303 protectant. looks like brand new. for the not so dull plastic parts, i wash with something called 4u citrus cleaner/wash (for RVs), blow dry with air gun, then 303 it

So...what other bikes do you own?

the first time you use her pots and pans to assist in an oil change, and laundry to wipe a dipstick, you'll find yourself with a whole lot more room in the garage ... that conveniently will be taken back up by your new sleeping arrangements.. but hey, one issue at a time right?

Lower or adjustable rider foot pegs for my '17 Super Tenere?

HMM. these problems are right in my wheelhouse hah. like i need any more projects to put onto my plate. I'd have to do some measurements, but I could see a floorboard system similar to aftermarket items for cruisers, that tuck feet just under the crash pad, with a relief to put your feet...

So...what other bikes do you own?

exactly. free treadmill = good motor, with speed controller and RPM meter. I have one on my antique milling machine which had a 2.5hp motor back in the 1940s when it was made and the thing barely notices when i crash the end mill into the table

First oil change, oil light is staying on.

many of these stem from people leaving junkers out front on blocks for decades at a time, then it kind of snowballs because nobody notices or takes action. boy howdy do i love holding tech days. I live in a small country neighbourhood, i put up notice to all my neighbours and mention that a...

First oil change, oil light is staying on.

i was trying to remember the name of the warranty act in the US, thanks for that :) . one of my international customers and I were talking about it a few weeks back, who are very pro-end user repair. My company is currently in negotiations with a certain green colored farm equipment...

So...what other bikes do you own?

i have the exact same drill press in a box waiting for restoration :D mine is the A.R. Williams branded version imported into Canada for the Canadian Military.. as much as i love the original motors on these old gals, i've started putting treadmill motors on everything.. 3-5hp DC motors...

So...what other bikes do you own?

ok. so in my defense, that's a 2 car wide, almost 2 car deep garage. its cluttered but oddly functional. In the back left (facing) quarter, i've got everything in "stations" on wheels. i have a full woodworking table top station that contains a tablesaw, router, jointer, planer, chop saw...

First oil change, oil light is staying on.

they have to prove that part directly caused the failure. for an oil filter to cause an oil light sensor to malfunction is a leap. if the oil filter actually caused the oil pump to lose prime or cause an actual problem that is a very tough battle to overcome. NO manufacturer has the right...

First oil change, oil light is staying on.

manufacturers (in Canada anyhow) cannot void a warranty if you work on the bike yourself, and I many states it applies the same even with some very specific laws. Service Advisors love to say it, but there is no provision in their warranty that says you have to use specific hands, experience...

    "Super" bike ride....

looking at the way he's strapped it in there, the front strap creates a triangle of pressure right around the middle of the pillion seat. the other straps simply holding the bike to the support, and the final strap going down to the box undermount only to prevent the whole apparatus from...
