Glad it worked out for you. FWIW, I googled "super tenere header bolt torque spec", as I've not yet learned to master search functions here.

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

Stripped the final drive drain screw. Always been wary of those since 2011 and it finally bit me. Drilled and easy-outted it and was no big deal, but that alloy has to go. Going to get a quality bolt and replace it.

The Super Tenere and and Heat

Fair points there. I too find that proper riding gear negates left leg heat. Even on 95°+ days black klim latitude misano pants keep the left as comfortable as the right, whereas in jeans I could fry an egg on the thigh.

How many folks clean the brake pistons and keep them clean ?

This is an outstanding post which I couldn't agree with more. Granted, the S10 will power through pretty much everything regardless of gunk, but who really wants it there... Especially when you're as far out as you'll be on your next trip.

    Chat GPT/Super Tenere fyi

Rotopax - how do you carry them?

Never had an issue with mine in the horizontal, although I've burped it now and again. Sure is a confident luxury having that extra 50 miles on the back.

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

Not being too dissatisfied with OEM brake pads I switched to EBC HH fronts and OEM organic rear in addition to replacing the rotor w/OEM @20k mi. It's been my experience, regardless of topical cleaning, that the rear caliber loads with an excess of debris bordering on the excessive. It's been...

    OEM panniers-

Been using oem's reliably since 2012 and count on them. There are stronger boxes, but as @Sierra1 states the mounts are very discreet. With very occasional light lube and a little cleaning they've worked ideally for me. This site has excellent reference for the PM. Never had one operational...

That's funny. Every time I'v gone over it in a cage there's been no maintenance. Every time on a bike, maintenance.

    MT to MI...first big adventure

Nice that you're able to extend your trip to enjoy the beautiful north of Superior. As others mention weather will probably be a thing to contend with now and again. For that I've leaned on the spendy side and have come to count on Klim riding gear. Expensive, but in a lifetime of riding I...

    MT to MI...first big adventure

Nice ride you’re planning, Kellbones. I happened to go that way last year in your stated areas of MI to MT. (Niag Falls – Sherman) Only disappointing thing was wind/rain which is a given sooner or later. Otherwise it was ideal and beautiful. As a camper you’re certain to quickly realize the...

tent that fits inside the OEM panniers?

Realizing your interest is in a single person tent my experience has been that a model sized up by one person is the appropriate size for the intended number of occupants. In my case I went with a Lone Rider adv tent and haven't had so much as a hitch and it fits nicely in the oem panniers of...

    Average MPG

49.5mpg with a fairly heavy hand. For whatever reason my mileage has always hung around there and I go through rubber like water. 4k from a set of Balttewings if I'm lucky and around 10k for Dakars. Usually go about 12-2X per year. Not flashed.
