    Hello from California

Hello from So Cal! Now that prices are really coming down, I'm planning on doing the same. If the right deal on a low mileage S10 comes across I'm upgrading my 12 to a newer ES.

    FJR 1300

Its too bad the Biker Boyzzz got ahold of em.... The Busa really is such an amazing bike, but the stigma from the kidzzz behind them is really bad. I have its close relative B King and love it, fortunately it never received the same treatment only being sold here for such a short time

Luggage choice : Bummot, Metal Mule, Touratec, Holan

I still feel the Bumot setups are alot of bang for the buck... You won't be disappointed on the expense IMHO.

What comes after the Super Tenere?

I want to love the Pan Am and get one now most of the bugs are worked out.... BUT honestly the chain drive keeps me away. I've rented the GS's on tours and they were nice but just not what I would own... I still have alot of life left in my S10 and hopefully long enough for the next...

Luggage choice : Bummot, Metal Mule, Touratec, Holan

This is a pretty good picture. They run just a few inches wider then the bars. I generally don't have issues splitting traffic. Though if I plan on a busy commute (holiday weekend Friday or Monday), Ill pull the sides and run just the top. I run the top 100% But I do enjoy the extra...

Have sales strategies changed or am I just getting old?

I always had issues with the awful throwing bearing clatter... Always a stick guy, but I hated Jeeps setup and I'd of done auto no doubt if I had a do-over. Its a common problem with their awful semi-hydro throwout bearing set up. I tried three separate brands of throw out bearings with no...

    Colorado Riders - Listen Up!

This.... I've been a daily rider since late 80s.... I've always split everything and consider it a big reason why I'm still around all these years.... I would regardless of law. If you're not passing cars you're asking to get hurt. You have an almost full field of whats coming at you in...

Have sales strategies changed or am I just getting old?

Do yourself a favor if you do get a JL.... Skip the manual.... Crappy trans and clutch setup and I had constant issues with it... Only way I finally got it to work properly is a B&M shifter and a full hydro clutch conversion. After having the trans out 3x over 80k miles. The one thing I...

Luggage choice : Bummot, Metal Mule, Touratec, Holan

Why the smaller set? We may use our S10s differently, but I don't see why there's cons to going with the large boxes for the $$. I've never regretted going with the large Bumots.

Luggage choice : Bummot, Metal Mule, Touratec, Holan

Good call. I've loved my Bumot set... They seved me well over a bunch of trips and commute... Only issue I've had is the top mount bracket cracking.... The main "go to cause" is off roading with it loaded.... I personally don't hold alot of weight in that top box and don't do much...

    No rear brakes

I'd definitely be focused on the ABS portion.... The light and the fact even with a bad MC you will still be able to pull fluid through the bleeder with a vacuum.... Spending more time on bleeding seems like wasting more time and wont accomplish anything. Look for codes and start...

Would you replace your tires ?

Everyone is different.... I'm through tires at 5k miles max on every bike from my HDs, ADVs to my 200 HP ZH2.... Some riders go as much as 15k miles with their tires on the same bike.... No one knows how those tires have held up or their condition now better then yourself...

Water Pump Breather Hose - Oil Drops

Thanks for the headsup, I'd of definitely been the guy taking the 5 hr wrench detour to eventually huck the pump down the street and haul butt down to Yamaha for a new pump.

    Replacing Wing with S10...or another

Uggghhh, now to farkle it up all over again.... Thats why though I'd love to have a second gen, I have way too much into work and farkles making my 12 perfect and wont sell.

Brand new, all dash lights are on. Help?

Almost wonder if its a charging issue....

    Replacing Wing with S10...or another

All great bikes.... Honestly if shaft drive and long distance touring isn't an issue, I'd go with what is easiest on budget and fits you best for a local runner.... For me the biggest pro for the S10 was shaftdrive and the largest dealer network for repairs or parts when far away from...

    2010 - headlight completely dead

Not sure if your repair fixed it..... But I know in my case with a few bikes when I had issues with lights not coming on its been a bad ignition switch.

    Tire recommendations for mud/mostly dirt.

I can say Pirelli Scorpions were the best at offroad on my S10. Honestly regardless of tires the S10 will always be sketchy and slow go in the mud. Just too heavy of a bike for mud and sand.

I know of a couple that used the 2 bros way back. Neither were happy. Too loud and both had issues with broken mounts.

How to destroy a perfectly good Super Tenere.

WOW! Glad you're doing well.... Lucky guy for sure.
