    Linked brakes not working

i replaced all my brake fluids the other day and now it feels like the rear isn’t activating when I apply the front. I don’t know any other way to confirm this other than putting the bike on the center stand while in gear and applying the front brake. The rear wheel continued to turn at idle...

    Thinking about a second bike

Call me a namby pamby…. but I'm new to off road riding and reluctant to go out and risk my nice, expensive S10. I've done it a few times and always ended up feeling like I was in over my head and the constant fear of crashing loomed. I know the bike is made for it, but it's already my favorite...

    Enjoying the weather

65 degrees today so I enjoyed a 170 mile jaunt through the Texas Hill Country. Man I love this bike. I'm not normally a guy who pulls over for pictures but this mural in Bertram, TX seemed like a good exception.

    Tire mounting tips

Getting ready to mount tires on my S10. Going to spoon on the tires myself for the first time. I've got the motion pro bead breakers, ken tool tire irons, a gallon of Ken tool lube and rim protectors (are these really necessary? I've watched a couple of videos where people changed tenere...

    Shinko 705... Radial or not?

Thinking of trying the Shinko 705's for my next set of tires. Is it worth it to pay the extra money for the radials or not?

    motorcycle safety course

Anyone ever take the motorcycle safety course after having been an experienced rider for a while? Was it worth it? Did you learn anything? I've had my motorcycle license for 17 years, been riding for almost 30, but I've never taken a class. A friend of mine is a new rider and wants me to...

    Front end dash squeak

Good lord this is annoying. I’ve tried tightening down everything. Cannot make this stop. Basically coming from the windshield bracket/headlight assy. Any clue how to resolve this other than pulling out my ear drums with rusty pliers?

rear brake light switch adjustment - replacement spring

Today I installed a set of Knight Design lowering foot pegs and I wanted to lower the rear brake pedal to match. Like many folks before, I ran into an issue with the rear brake light switch. Basically, you can only lower the brake pedal so far before the switch is activated and the brake light...

    additional rear brake lights

Just curious what folks have done to add some rear brake lighting to their bikes. I've got a supabrake 3 brake light modulator on my bike and I definitely think it increases visibility, but I'd like to add more light as well to be more visible. Post a pic if you have one.

    What’s this?

Took off one of my side cases today and found this holding the OEM sad case rack on. I didn’t know anything about this when I bought this bike. It doesn’t look like specific. Where can I buy one?

    LED headlight alignment

I installed a pair of LED headlight bulbs today. LASFIT H7 3800 lumens (per bulb) from Amazon for $34.99. Here's a link. Installation was super easy. Just pull the silver retainment ring off the LED bulb and put it into place within the headlight bezel. Secure it with the retaining clip...

getting bike on center stand while still astride

Been using the center stand to mount the bike due to difficulty getting my big feet up and over the side bags. Would like to do the same to dismount but I cannot get he bike on the center stand while I'm still straddling the bike. If anyone can do this, what's your technique?

    More leg room

I am now the proud owner of a 2012 S10 with 9000 miles. Got a great deal and absolutely love this bike. The one thing I could use is a little more leg room. What seat might raise me up the most? And also what crash bars might offer the lowest mounting position for a set of highway pegs? I...

    Tenere test ride

So today I got to ride my first Tenere. A 2012 model with 24,000 miles. I haven't ridden anything buy my Royal Star for the last 4 years so it was quite a shock to the system, but I really enjoyed it. First I must say.... the Royal Star is a 5 speed and 5th is a true overdrive. You don't...

    dry box luggage rack???

Hello. I'm hoping to buy a Tenere soon and I'm planning my future storage needs. I'm looking at one currently that has no racks or side bags on it, but I commute on my bike so I definitely need some storage. Was planning on mounting some inexpensive dry boxes or maybe tool boxes in the place...

    New to ADV bikes

Howdy folks. New guy here from Texas. Been a big fan of Yamahas for many years and currently ride a '06 Royal Star. But I've pretty much decided that this will be my last cruiser. Just doesn't do it for me any more. I really like the Tenere and I think it may be my next bike. I'm sure I...
