Bigguy Rides - 2014 S10 Travels - Currently in Kyrgyzstan

I actually live south of those areas but it is part of my work area. Your trip up to the Salmon Glacier...that old building used to be the main Mill for the Grand Duc Mine site. There is a portal that begins there and goes up under the Salmon Glacier to the mine site. Home is in Terrace for me...

Bigguy Rides - 2014 S10 Travels - Currently in Kyrgyzstan

Now you were really in my neck of the woods. Telegraph Creek is actually Highway 51 and maintained year round. (I just got back from there). Too bad you didn't zip into Cassiar north of Dease Lake (just before Jade City). Anyway always cool to see pics of "my hood" on here and see others...

Bigguy Rides - 2014 S10 Travels - Currently in Kyrgyzstan

Very cool thread. I know the areas you travelled fairly well...but I've done them in my truck and camper. Nicely done!

    Ohio to Alaska

Avoid the Alaska Highway and take 37N instead. It's a nicer route anyway IMO.

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

Snowy day here mixed with rain and periods of sun. Road locally, got plastered with snow then few minutes later, sun!...Rinse, repeat. :)

How far do you go with the fuel gauge flashing?

I wondered about that too....The ST has more volume at the top....but there are other fluctuations that are more difficult to explain.

How far do you go with the fuel gauge flashing?

Kinda off topic but my fuel tank usually gets me about 250km before I need to take a leak and a quick break so I generally do that and fill up at same time. My HD fuel gauge was far more accurate than my 2018 ST. "Distance to Empty" is just fluff on this bike.

where did you TAKE your Tenere today?

Insured my bike today and got out for a bit of wind therapy. First ride of 2023! :)

    Ohio to Alaska

You will have options. Just make sure when you are nearing the end of your day, the nearest town isn't too far away. It will very very likely have a place to sleep. All those places you mention have lots of hotels. I would be a little careful between Fort Nelson and Whitehorse as some of the...

    Rear tire wear

13000 miles.....take that as a real win. What brand of tire is it?

    The anything thread.

Pretty sure "God" made those Lithium reserves required for them batteries too....not sure what your point is? (In humour :))

    Winter Ride KLR650

Doubt you are arrogant, certainly not my words. Lots of folks use the same terminology, all good!

    Winter Ride KLR650

For us Canadians, 10k means 10,000 kilometres.....Do our US brothers mean 10k is 10,000 MILES? Quite the difference in distance. Sorry for the thread drift....

    Winter Ride KLR650

My S10 is insured until Dec.....it will become obvious when it is not ridable.....never considered a beater bike though for winter....however beater or not, ice and snow is not a good combo for two wheels

    Fogging oil

Fuel stabilizer, breathable cover, bike plugged into a battery tender. I live in a cold damp area, bikes have always been stored in an outdoor unheated shed. So far no issues.

    Crosswinds

Wind gusts mess everything up....I think the reason I like the ST better is because it is more nimble than my heavier bagger is.
