You can buy the tank lock mechanism by itself (Givi ZT480R), which theoretically you could add to the Yamaha bag. The Yamaha bag is pretty big and floppy though, I'm not sure how well it would work.

Here is the Mosko Moto Nomad (now called Nomax). I love the organization of this tank bag and it's extremely well made. I love this bag on my F650. Don't love the way it fits on the S10 and would like something a little bigger longer trips. 7L (according the website, I'm not sure I believe that)

Must be the angle, It was squared off a fair bit (most of my miles are highway) but there wasn't anything unusual about the wear. It was actually more consistent than tires I've run on other bikes.

Good thought, the vin decodes as a 2017, but I don't know how to determine actual manufacture date. It will enter a diag mode if hold down both buttons when turning it on, does that mean I'm out of luck?

Well that's promising news. Mine claimed it was specifically for the S10, but it was ebay so who knows. Do you have a link for the one you have? Or better yet are you able to determine which pins are used? Mine is using power (16), ground (4+5 connected), CAN High (6) and CAN Low (14).

I've been trying to figure this out too (for the same reason). I bought one of the ebay 4-pin to ODB2 adapters and tried it with a couple of scanners on my '17 and so far no joy. As best I've been able to figure we're out of luck...
