where did you TAKE your Tenere today?

This is looking back down the valley towards Georgetown. I think Saxon Mtn is the one in the far left center distance. I was following some Fox or Coyote tracks in the middle of the road for a while. I come around a corner and see this sight This is where I turn around and head home to...

where did you TAKE your Tenere today?

First snow of the season ride. I wasn't sure how much snow would be in the high country this morning, so I headed up to Georgetown CO to find out. It wasn't quite 50 degs when I left the house, so I was dressed warmly for the cooler temps up high. This is one of the first things I saw once...

where did you TAKE your Tenere today?

After leaving Breckenridge I head south towards Alma and Fairplay to home. Before going over Hoosier pass I see a sign pointing up a canyon to Blue Lakes. I head up the road, which is apparently where everybody goes. They even have a shuttle lot at the bottom by the highway to haul people up to...

where did you TAKE your Tenere today?

I hit the slopes yesterday. Back when I was a kid, my parents belonged to a Jeep club. One of the trips I remember is going to Breckenridge CO. There were several mining cabins back then that had newspapers glued on the inside of the log walls to help with insulation. It was fun to read the old...

*SOLD* 2018 KTM 1290R Super Adventure

That's a great sale price. I agree with Sierra1 change the tires and try that for a while. It's amazing what a difference that can make. I actually have my eye on the new 2022 SAS version.

Show us what kind of roads you ride on!

Mike112358 - Those look like some fun roads to try. Someday I would like to get up into that area. Stantdm - I'm not far away from that area. I was just there yesterday for a post office run.

Show us what kind of roads you ride on!

They do tend to keep you on your toes. In the first picture, the rocks and trail are all covered in talcum powder like dust, making them move under you like marbles, not much fun for any distance. I think the section in the 2nd photo is about 1/2 mile long with several steps tossed in for added...

Show us what kind of roads you ride on!

I have to ride pavement to get to the dirt, which is more exciting. This is the base of Hancock Pass This is the east side of Mosquito Pass This is outside of Buena Vista by the COBDR route.

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

I spent 1+ hr pounding my skidplate and its bottom mounting bracket back into shape after my St Elmo, Tincup ride yesterday which is posted in Where did your take your Tenere. The pounding today was not near as exciting as yesterday's ride was.

where did you TAKE your Tenere today?

At the intersection of the Alpine Tunnel and the Hancock and Tomichi pass, the 3 way is covered with baseball sized round rocks in all directions. Sorry, no pictures. I double checked my GPS and headed up this little narrow trail towards Hancock Pass. I now see where all of the round rocks came...

where did you TAKE your Tenere today?

I started down and about 1/4 mile there was another biker on a real dirt bike. He was amazed I was there on the Tenere. Going down the steeper sections wasn't too bad, lots of line choices. I was too busy concentrating to take any pictures. This is Mirror Lake which is 3 miles out of Tin Cup...

where did you TAKE your Tenere today?

Since I didn't have any takers, with rideable bikes any ways, I decided to do the St Elmo loop by myself since I was already mentally committed. The loop can be entered from 3 or 4 different locations, St Elmo, TinCup, Pitkin or even from Monarch Pass via the Tomichi pass route (I think). I had...

The Linux bug bit in more ways than 1

For an update, I gave up on the install several months a ago, especially since It pretty much bricked the HD's both old and new. I finally just took it to a computer pro today and he couldn't get Linux to load either, even from scratch. He tried both Mint and Ubuntu. He did format am startup...

Up for a St Elmo loop ride??

Glad to hear you are ok. The lack of air does take its toll. That looked like fun ride up to the oops part of no return. I fully understand how that mental warning can happen too late sometimes. I did not know there were rideable trails up that mountain. That is a fun fact to know. When I was...

Up for a St Elmo loop ride??

Yikes. Are you ok? That was a close call for the radiator. Where were you? Those loose baseball, grapefruit and melon sized rocky sections are nasty.

Up for a St Elmo loop ride??

I lost my riding buddy. No he didn't pass away, he sold his Tenere and bought 650 Suzuki Burgman scooter of all things. I think he's going to regret that decision and will eventually come back to the fold. Anyways, anybody in the Denver front range wanting to do the ST Elmo loop this Thursday...

where did you TAKE your Tenere today?

Friday was an 8 pass crossing day, Kenosha (twice), Boreas, Fremont, Hagerman, Independance, Weston and Red Hill I have not been up Hagerman in 3-4 years and the east side is much rockier than I remember it being. the nicest part is at the very top. There was the obligatory 2 ft deep water...

    Dunlop trail max Mission

It's like someone once said, there is no perfect tire. It's all about compromises. It all depends where on the scale you want to be. 056f did say "About 17k out of that tire (was on the bike when I got it so I'm not 100% sure). " 056f - how many miles did you put on that tire?
