Impressions of going from a 14ES to an 18ES

Even if it's more reliable with better shift points, it still lacks that all-important clutch lever for modulating the power. The new E-Clutch sounds promising though.

Impressions of going from a 14ES to an 18ES

I wish Yamaha had evolved the S10 and given it an up/down quickshifter. Love the one on my MT-09, a real labor saver in heavy traffic. Its clutch is also much lighter, which is nice when you're constantly using it.

Impressions of going from a 14ES to an 18ES

Yeah, when I got the DCT I only thought about how easy my 40 mile commute through city traffic would be. Live and learn. It seems the Honda E-Clutch retains the clutch lever, so perhaps the best of both worlds...

Impressions of going from a 14ES to an 18ES

I also had a DCT AT, mine was a 2016. Agree on the crappy build quality, in the 2 years I owned it the DCT broke down mid-commute, stranding me, and the fuel pump, idle control valve and headlight switch gear broke as well. What led me to sell it back to the dealer though, was the intermittent...

Impressions of going from a 14ES to an 18ES

I had a DCT Africa Twin. I really missed having a clutch to instandly modulate the power while doing u-turns and in a number of other situations, A good quick shifter takes away most of the busy work, but still gives the control only a clutch can provide.

Who's interested in a lighter throttle return spring?

Thanks! Cycledude! I also reached out to the largest FB facebook group, which is a public group, but my post was pending then declined for some bizarre reason and the admin team members don't accept DMs. If you belong there, maybe you could post about the poll. The more people who can vote in...

Throttle return spring removal, tweak & reinstall - re-done

i contacted Spears Racing, who offers a lighter pull throttle spring for the FZ/MT and if there's enough interest among S10 owners he said he'd be willing to make a lighter return spring for our bikes. Please check out this new thread and respond in the poll if you're interested. i'll be sending...

Who's interested in a lighter throttle return spring?

There's a long thread about tweaking the throttle return spring to make the throttle action lighter. https://yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?threads/throttle-return-spring-removal-tweak-reinstall-re-done.2920/ When googling this topic i found one company in California, Spears Racing, that...

Throttle return spring removal, tweak & reinstall - re-done

When you have time could you take a pic of that black cover so I know where to begin looking for this spring? Thanks!

Throttle return spring removal, tweak & reinstall - re-done

Bump! Has anyone else done this? I've been spoiled by the light throttle pull on my MT-09 and would like to lighten the throttle pull on my S10.

What's the best quick shifter (up AND down) for the Super Tenere?

I'm looking forward to your review, especially how it works on downshifts.

What's the best quick shifter (up AND down) for the Super Tenere?

Yes, it's not needed for countryside rides. But it's a game changer on a long commute through city traffic that requires constant shifting.

    Anyone try Anakee Roads yet?

My local shop doesn't list a 110 front tire option for that, only a 120.

    Anyone try Anakee Roads yet?

The tire shop had both the Anakee Road and Road 6s in stock. I checked them out and ended up going with the Road 6s because they just looked beefier and more substantial for 90 bucks more. The 5s gave me over 10,000 miles with decent handling till the end so I'm expecting similar bang for the buck.

    Most comfortable ear plugs?

I use Howard Leight Max Lite. The key to inserting them easily: Roll an earplug up and lick the end being inserted. Reach over your head with your other hand and pull the top of your ear up. Then insert the plug. Quick and easy. These never bother me even riding all day.

    Anyone try Anakee Roads yet?

These are newly available where I am, 90 bucks cheaper than Road Sixes. Wondering if anyone's tried them yet on their S10. https://ridermagazine.com/2024/02/07/michelin-anakee-road-tires-review-gear/
