I picked up some set screws with same thread as the changer mounting bolts. They keep the holes and threads clean between tire changes.

I have an ortlieb dry bag that holds my tent, poles, sleeping pad, chair and stove. All my camping stuff in a single spot. Want to go camping just throw bag on bike.

That sounds awesome! Use that for a jump off to the Copper Canyon or the Devils Backbone. Oh, and watch for those showers with the electric heater built into the shower head. Those things scare the heck out of me.

Don't remember my STOC number but I learned a lot on the old email list. Had a black 1991 ST1100 then a pearl red 1996 with ABS. Those bikes took me border to border and coast to coast. Switched to an FJR rather than the ST1300. Still have the FJR but may sell it this spring.

I have found that pulling my helmet off tends to send my hearing aids flying so I don't wear them under the helmet. I've had the problem with both in the ear and behind the ear aids. You're trying to turn a hammer into a screwdriver. Better off replacing the KTM with something more modern. The 690s are a big improvement and can be found on used market for short money.
