Where is the speed sensor wires ?

LOL - You said it that post you wanted to do this in 2015! Took you long enough!:D Does this work like the Gen 2's, only working when running with the clutch engaged?

    Heated Grips

First real use today. I actually like the manual control. No need to access the menu, fewer buttons to press, less distraction and always on display. Five levels of heat. Today, as it got cool, 80% was too hot, 60% was just right. Sent from my SM-S918U using Tapatalk

where did you TAKE your Tenere today?

Ride with @TenereGUY and @Want2 to the first leg of the Trans Wisconsin Adv Trail. Back in July Darryl had attempted to ride this after some significant rain. Sucked water and Guy traveled to retreive him. We have now named this little slab of concrete "Darryl's Crossing". Then and now. Lunch...

    Gear Box concerns

I can tell when my oil is getting due for a change when the shifting gets stiffer. I have found the Valvoline full synthetic to provide the smoothest shifting.

Smoother throttle response after valve adjustment

Mine usually runs better, but I also replace the air filter, plugs, and rebalance the throttle bodies. It is a good tuneup.

    Heated Grips

Here is how they turned out. The hardest part is figuring out where to route and secure cables to ensure no lock to lock interference around the forks. Sent from my SM-S918U using Tapatalk

    Heated Grips

Did not even try. The voltage is too low so they will never get hot enough. I mounted the controller on the left mirror mount. Looks good and handy location. Sent from my SM-S918U using Tapatalk

    Heated Grips

Confirmed open circuit on the right grip. No indentifiable wear or repair potential, so new grips needed. I started with the Oxford EVO thermistor version. Tested before installing and I was unimpressed with the heat output, limited to 115° and variable in getting to that. I returned to Cycle...

Rear swingarm removal/service - tips or tricks?

I would do the linkage bearings while you are doing the job, especially if removing the shock. Those bolts are prone to corrosion if lube is light. The first time the exhaust will need to be moved to remove one of the bolts from the left. Put that one in from the right during reassembly so the...

    Wheel bearings

I replaced both the fronts at 90k mi, and the rear at 72k based on the rougher feel during tire changes. When I got them new I repacked with additional grease at the recommendation of @eemsreno. If inspected every time the wheels come off, chances of getting stranded should be low. I believe the...

    Heated Grips

From Revzilla there is a $16 price difference. 7 reviews @ <2.5 rating for the Hot Grips Evo. 327 reviews @ 4.8 rating for the older Premium.

    Heated Grips

So apparently the latest version of the Oxford grips include thermister control for the temperature. Oxford HotGrips EVO Adventure. Any experience with these verses the originals? Revzilla Customer ratings are not so hot, but relatively limited...

where did you TAKE your Tenere today?

Yesterday's last CO ride for the year. Stayed around South Fork riding various forest roads with the wives in a Razer, taking in the changing colors. Probably less than 5 miles of pavement. Had lunch talking to the cowboy rancher holding the grazing lease on the forest land. He said the dogs...

    Heated Grips

My 2014 OEM grips started intermittent failure and have now dropped completely from the menu. I have not determined where the failure is yet. Has anyone successfully repaired a broken wire, or is replacement the normal repair route? It appears the Oxford Adventures are about half the OEM if...

where did you TAKE your Tenere today?

Rode to Crede, Bachelor's Loop and the Silver Thread Scenic Byway. Tried to make it to Stoney Pass, but it was too stoney for our riding skills. Good ride anyway, quite a workout on my FitBit. Check out the water crossing in the video. Just a few pics here. The Aspens are turning all around...

where did you TAKE your Tenere today?

Wife wanted to check off the Great Sand Dunes NP, so the girls loaded in the car and the two guys took the bikes. https://www.relive.cc/view/vPv4dwrZg3v Tested the rain gear on the way home. Worked pretty well given it coming sideways at about 50 mph a couple times. Sent from my SM-S918U...
