When they asked " Do you have any weapons with you?"
"No"
the next question was " Do you have any at home"?

I thought to myself here we go. Just let me go back. o_O

. . . . the next question was " Do you have any at home"? . . . .
Did they explain why that question was asked? I'm assuming that it wasn't friendly conversation. Like "hey, what kind of guns do you have at home?"

I thought they liked us up there. I mean, we didn't deport Just Beeber back to them. But we did keep Shania Twain.

mak10, my buddy wants to know which border crossing you used .... wants to avoid her if possible .
he has a motoguzzi 850 at the house , but decided to rent a bike out of Portland and will leave it in anchorage at the end of his ride , then will fly home from anchorage . shipped all his gear to the Moto rental people in Portland (motoquest) . will be crossing some time tomorrow in Idaho , if I remember correctly .

I crossed at the Blaine Washington crossing. They don't like people who wander or who have no set plans. They were all serious, and I can't even imagine what they have seen.

Hwy 20 was recommended to me by some local riders on the Ferry back from the Island. It was an amazing ride through the Cascde National park. I had the day and took my time going through. It is always a good sign when you see lots of other motorcycles on the road. I even passed a couple of Super Tenere riders on Hwy 20.

One of the highlights of this road was the El Diablo Dam. You can take an easy to overlook side road that takes you right across the top of the dam. Pictures can't do this justice. It pays to talk to local riders!

The weather forcast for the night was 90% chance of rain. Heavy rain. As it was getting dark the raindrops started on my tent. After the long day, I was super tired and was out. Upon waking up it had only drizzled a bit. Packed up and headed out.
