Oh, that's right, I heard they (CA) banned detachable mags. Please tell me that does not apply to pistols. I don't see how it could. You couldn't load them. Of course, that could be the plan.

Most 1911s have been under that restriction for decades. But not because the government said so. :D

I had a Kimber 1911 years ago and what an amazing gun. Why would a 1911 be restricted?
1911s usually can only hold from 7-10 rounds, depending on whose mags you're using. Para/Para-Ordinance made high capacity (14rd) 1911s, but they're out of business. There could be other companies making them. I'll stick to my Kimber.

Para-Ordnance; P12 Officers, 12 rnds, P13 Commander, 13rnds, and I think it was a P14, 14 rnds, for the full size. My P12 has got to be thirty some-odd years old. The stagger stack grips are comfy, heavy, but comfy. Google says there was a P10 too, called the Warthog, cool looking pistol, wish I had one.

I saw an article about this little device. It replaces the take down lever on Sigs, and XDs, but clamps onto the rail for Glocks. I haven't tried one yet.

They just started making those again . . . . and they're not cheap. My buddy just picked one up to complete his collection. He had two of the barrel lengths, I can't remember which one he bought.

I remember when I first went out in the field in the mid 80's, we were still carrying wheel guns, and most of the guys were buying the Python as a duty weapon (I bought, and still have a S&W 686) to replace the issued S&W model 15. Was pretty expensive back then also, but what a smooth action right out of the box.

Was away for a few days. Some quality time with the wife and ended with a visit to Militracks. Tickets booked end of ‘19… but some bug from China postponed it many times. Once a year the war-museum (WOll, mostly german side) has a 2 day event. First time there, if you wanna see a lot of big guns that is the place. I am not the guy to take pictures everywhere but some were made. Could buy tickets for riding with many many wartime vehicles. Had a ride-along on a “kettenrad”, guy was blasting through the woods with it!

A real treat was the Nashorn, only 3 left worldwide and this is the only driving one. Very impressive tank but forgot to take pictures ofcourse..

I had to look up Nashorn. Very likely the inspiration for the US Palidin.
EDIT: or Crusader.
And I had to google those two. The Paladin has got similarities for sure! When the Nashorn and the Stug started riding you could hear it through the entire forest. Nothing stealthy about those two!
