In 1979 four of us rode to Yellowstone on a two week great time.
I was on my XS1100 and Jeff on a KZ900, Rick on a Suzuki 550 and Rus on a XS750.

That is Jeff on the left Rick on the ground and Rus on the right.
Rick has passed away a few years ago.
. About 6 years ago Michelle and I stopped by Jeff's house and he took my Tenere for a ride. He seemed to really like it. Well about 4 weeks ago I stopped by again and he was at work but I talked to his wife, He picked up a 2015 Tenere a year or so ago.
About 4 years ago Rus stopped by work and I had him take my Tenere for a ride. He said 'I got to get me one of these' . A couple days ago I got a message on here from Rus, He has picked up a 2014 Tenere.
I told Rus that the three of us need to get together and take a trip again. It's great to hook up with old friends again.

I have great news.
A couple years ago I tried contacting Rick through the business his dad owned They got back to me and said he had passed away. Well, it turned out that they got Rick mixed with his dad.
I was telling my daughter the story of us four riding to Yellowstone and that three of us now own Super Tenere's but that Rick had passed away. She started searching the internet and found Ricks dads obituary that led her to Rick. He is alive and well. I'm slow at this technology stuff so I've only messaged with him a couple times now I'll find out if he still rides, maybe if I really get up to speed, I can get his phone # and actually call him. That might take me a while, as Rus has sent me his # and I still haven't got him called. If I could get Michelle to put Rus's # in the phone then I can make the call.

Great story, and great news on Rick, hope you get connected again and REALLY hope you get together for a reunion trip. Best I could do would be a day trip to Southend with an old school mate Tony. But no idea where he is, not seen or heard from him in years….

Rick just posted me this picture from our 1979 trip.
That is me on the right and I think it is on the east side of the Missouri river on I90 in South Dakota.
Wow notice that red suitcase and cooler on my bike.

Rus This is on the OLD Alternate 14 in the Big Horns, one of the coolest roads I have ridden, When Michelle and I rode through here on our honeymoon the next year it was all closed off, you can still see traces of it on Google earth. It is on the north side of the current Alternate 14.

Not sure which one of the guys this is but they all three dived off this cliff into the Firehole River.
