True, very little. It moves more due to me pulling to heavy trigger then the shot. It’s semi-auto, since auto isn’t allowed here.

I have a CMC trigger in my AR. 5lb pull, and very crisp. The OE trigger was similar to what you describe; fingernails on a chalk board. My son's OE trigger, is totally different. Both are Mil-Spec Colt ARs. Obviously different vendors for the contract(s).

Here's the latest addition to the family. S&W, M&P Shield EZ Performance Center (PC), chambered in .380acp. I have a "regular" Shield PC, .40 S&W, for my EDC, and love it. My wife doesn't like the recoil, but is an ok shot. This should take care of that. Ported barrel, and .380 . . . . almost no recoil. Both pics are the same pistol, on the same surface, only difference is a flash.

I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide.
Wow. I've never shot an AR chambered in .22LR. There has to be almost zero recoil.
If you already own a 5.56 AR get one of the drop in conversion kits. They work well. These go on sale with the 3 mags for $170 all the time. If interested, let me know Ill give you a heads up next time they do.

As tempting as that is . . . . 'cuz my AR is a heavy barrel, and there would be absolutely no recoil . . . . I love my ol' Marlin .22. It's a squirrel's nightmare.

I gave some thought to sending my .40 Shield into Magna Port.

From the name, I'm assuming it's for porting. Save your money. I have the .40 Shield with porting. My friend has the same gun without porting. Neither one of us can feel the difference in recoil. The main reason I went with the ported version, Performance Center (PC), was for the improved/enhanced trigger. There's a definite difference between our triggers. The PC version has a much better trigger. The PC version also has fiber optic front/rear sights. The Shield EZ PC has fiber optic day sights . . . . that are also tritium night sights.

3" is good enough for the girls I go out with.

Smith 66-2 3" one of my favorite "modern" revolvers.
That picture brings back some memories. When I first started as a LEO, we were still carrying wheel guns. Carried a S&W 686 4" with Hogue grips (still have it) in a break front swivel holster. Also the speed loaders, which one can be just as fast reloading as one is with an auto.

Saw this article in 24/7 Wall Street. Interesting, and a little surprising.

. . . . The U.S. topped the list of both total firearms and firearms per resident. In both cases, no other nation is even close. Total "civilian held and illicit firearms" in America were estimated at 339,300,000. The next closest country was India at 71,100,000. The population of India is about four times the size of the U.S.

America's guns per 100 residents based on the same database are 120.5. The next closest nation is Yemen at 52.8.

. . . . According to the Gun Violence Archive, there have been 40,681 gun deaths this year. A total of 21,912 of these have been suicides.

The numbers are a little suspect, although there's no surprise at the US having the most guns.

The definition says the word is derogatory?
Not to me. All part of the tounge in cheek. But, apparently it was offensive enough to get deleted. It never occurred to me that a humorous "term" would violate the thread rules. Que Será, Será

actually anything mentioning the 2nd amendment or the issues associated with it gets deleted regardless of intent. What may start out as humor can easily morph into something else.

Please take a look at Checkwrecks original post setting up this thread. and the rules of the road for it.

That said, I did chuckle before I nuked it.
