Dont bother. I did mine 3 times and never had to do a thing. Still in spec at 188000 when it jumped time. New tenere at 88000 and valve's still in spec
they got looked at once at 50k i think.... it starts from warm with a brush of the starter button- so i don't think i'm losing any compression!

maybe i'll just grease up the swingarm bits and call it good.

Just completed 100,000kms on my 2014 ES. Never had an issue since day one. Except the two valve clearance checks, all maintenance was carried out at home.
In 2014, my brand new BMW R1200RT was grounded due to a global recall. I purchased the Super Tenere as a stop-gap solution until BMW replaced the RT. But after a 10 day road trip on the S10, I changed my mind and decided she was a keeper. Haven’t looked back since then. Waiting for the next gen S10.

I thought I just read somewhere that you thought you had blown it up?
Yes on Nov 4, 2020 my 2014 ST quit running due to no compression in #1 cylinder, only 30 in #2 cylinder. Just this week I took the head off and found that one #2 cylinder exhaust valve was stuck (no clearance) and #1 cylinder exhaust has a cracked valve, probably due to overheat. Parts are on order.
In January 2021 I bought a second 2016 Super Ten and have put over 50,000 miles on it so far this year.

2017 Z now just coming up for 60,000 miles. Had valves checked at 25,000 all in spec have not had them checked since. Bike runs perfectly, starts hot or cold at press of button. Self serviced apart from the one valve check. Only things replaced other than service items were front discs and headlight bulbs. One of the auxiliary bulbs for headlight has recently blown but haven’t got round to removing headlight to change it yet.

Я в шоке от таких пробежек! Сколько месяцев в году ты катаешься на коньках?

Got my 14 with 35k kms on it in August last year. Just broke 90k.

Fork seal, final drive seal, were the faults so far. Changed the wheel bearings just because they were inexpensive wear items.

Just maintenance and mods besides that. My RT hasn't been getting much love this year, should probably sell it.

Here's some scientific or at least physically visible proof of how the engine wears (or, really, doesn't...). Like many other YAMAHA engines, provided a minimum of care, the S10 engine can run 100K miles or more trouble-free. If you want it to. Also, look up Longhaupaul on Youtube and check out his experiences with two S10's.

I've got 196,500km on my 2013. No engine problems but I did have a spoke in the rear wheel let go at about 25,000km and do a lot do damage, and I have had the final drive leak four times.

Wow, four times? Were all the leaks from the same point? I'm at 86,000 now and haven't had any final drive issues.

I zip tied all my spokes together at the crossovers back when I first got the bike, just to avoid that problem you ran into.
