Fortunately that stuff seems to fading into the background, especially if you just skip the 'Rona thread.

I joined here as I read a few of the posts and found them informative. I knew from reading the initial posts that it would give me great access to advice that would serve me well for the future.

I would recommend anyone that is making a decision on an ST purchase to come here and gen up and heed the knowledge and freely given advice that is a huge part of the enjoyment here. I have learnt shedloads. When I do eventually get my Tenere I feel like I will have a very good head start.

I do not own a Tenere.

I was asked three times previously by the OP whether I owned a Tenere. This was asked even after I had clearly posted that I was not an owner - and also after he had posted to me about my “XR650R” (it is a Husky TR650 Terra) - so I guess it was clear.

I do not own a Tenere.

Coincidentally, just before this latest amusing post by the OP, we had a minor disagreement and I was asked to post a picture of my bike and my tent.

I do not own a tent

It was an all too familiar pattern - I had already posted that left my tent in Oz in 1998 – However, the OP asked me to post a picture of my tent because I had the temerity to disagree with a post. Not all of it, but enough.

He asked me to post a picture on the tent post. Then posted this…lol

So, here we are.

I do not own a Tenere.

I do not own a tent.

Happy now?

Get over yourself… :D

Possession is too often the ending of a very happy dream..
@PhilPhilippines: Cherish your dreams, possession will someday end them..
Whenever you do possess one, new dreams will start.. You are OK as you are...
Whatever your dreams or whatever you ride (or don’t)...
Maybe I missed reading any post, but that advice you give to Phil, is it because he is thinking of getting married ???:)

Thank you. Very positive.

I am very privileged the way my life has unfolded. At one point I was working 16 hours a day and 10 on Sunday building up my franchise driving school operation. Then, in a quirk of fate my then long-term gf left me. We had planned to spend our retirement travelling the world and all my efforts were towards that. Unfortunately, my extended periods away created a distance that I was unaware was happening.

So, I decided to sell everything and buy a RTW ticket for a year. That was in 1998 and I haven't left Asia yet. I love the place!!

I possess part of my dream already. Everyone says how I lucked out with my Filipina wife. I have lots of very nice toys, eat well, drink well, live a half day from white sand beaches, highlands and 4 race tracks.

The Tenere is more of a utilitarian goal. To get me and my wife to all the go-to places you see in the brochures, without any drama, once lockdown is lifted.

At present the Husky thumper will do the short hauls...

I would have sorted the S10 before the wife.
