I kinda think the stainless would have looked good.
I think that’s true. My friend was looking to buy a silver set, and if I recall correctly, they told him they weren’t available any longer.Well if that’s true maybe they quit making them stainless steel because currently the only color choice is black.
my plan is to call T-Rex probably Tuesday to find out for sure what’s available and place an order, color doesn’t matter much to me but I do believe Stainless Steel is much tougher than plain steel.I think that’s true. yer,If it turns out you don't like it. . . . just paint or wrap them. A' la Bimota. (but, I think his may be powder coated)
Yes, the Faraday Cage Effect with powder coating is what needs to be mitigated for corners or inside sections of the parts being coated but this is manageable if the proper equipment, powder and settings are used.Rammer I’m sorry to hear your not satisfied because of the cracked powder coat by the weld joints but I also suspect if you have them re coated they will do the same thing again.
Yes I definitely would have chosen stainless steel if there was a choice but there was no choice when I ordered.
I am quite amazed at the extremely long list of parts T-Rex builds for all kinds of motorcycles !
I have personally met with the owner of T-Rex racing. He is a good person and he cares. Let him know.I dropped mine off at the powder coater today. He was able to pick most of the coating around the threaded bosses and the welds just with his fingernail.
Maybe my set was a lemon but he said there is no way that a competent powder coater should not be able to do a proper job on these bars. None of the tighter spots should hinder the process.
Will post up once I get them back which will be in a couple of weeks or so.
Taking a cue from @bimota above and they are looking to find a red that matches my graphics. If they can’t then back to black.
Here are a couple of pics from when I first noticed the issues.

What kind of issues have you had with the plate?I think there is a quality issue with their bars. I found a crack and rust near a weld while unwrapping them. I contacted T-Rex and they replaced the bars. After running them for 15k mi, they have held up very well to countless tip-overs off-road. Can't say the same about the skid plate, which I will be replacing. View attachment 77901
I keep having issues with the bolts that go into the cover for the oil filter but my plate has taken a beating and held up well. Only other issue was the angle of one of the points where it attaches on the bottom left was wrong. Overall I really like mine though and have done a good job. What kind of issues have you had with the plate?
