Thanks Rob. Yep..those do look good and rubble matt would be ideal for the same idea.
Once this lockdown is over and I can find some work/money again I will look out for a spare set of OEM hanguards to do this with. Id like to have a 'winter' pair and summer pair ideally

I've dropped mine at least 25 times. Altrider saved me everytime. Bent my shift lever a little once with my boot under it. Learned to just let her go after that.
Agree, when it is inevitable that you're going down, bail and roll, get away from the bike because unless you are really big and strong you won't be able to save it.
Make sure that your riding jacket has a good quality back pad. I dumped my ten in my driveway the other day, I bailed, landed on my back, didn't feel a thing.
Bent the shift lever, was able to straighten it with vice grips and a long pair of pliers.
My SW Motech have saved the day so far.

Ive always used Puig. Cheap and good. When the bike is down, not even the handlebar touches the floor..excellent.
The reason I dont like some of the others is that they restrict access to the side panels. That would really p*** me off if I couldn't get quick access to the battery/fuses etc. Put that in your decision would be wise??
Agree, access to the side panel removal is certainly a consideration. I will have to remove my left crash bar ( SW Motech) to change the air filter. I can remove the right side panels to access fuses and the battery.

Sadly my work didn’t finish until 1830 so I managed to attach the Altrider headlamp guard and put her in the garage. Didn’t manage to go for a ride which was devastating. My son was all over on it and then decided to go out on his own bike for an hour just to rub it in....

Welcome from Kansas. I also almost pulled the pin on the VFR. I think the S10 fits me better. I think that they are both great bikes for reliability. Enjoy the adventure.

So with the Covid stuff, the DVLA master systems are not working well. My bike was reg on 13th but it’s still not showing on the master insurance database. So I can’t insure the damn thing. Not sleeping that well knowing it’s sitting in my garage uninsured having lost my previous bike due to theft....

Still can’t ride it then
