There’s no use in importing anymore once you start to see the ADV Harley at Dairy Queens and Starbucks in the US.
Hey, Hey, Hey! We have a strict isolation policy in the US. Wing-a-bagos go to Dairy Queen, BMWs go to Starbucks. The ADV Harley guys will have to find their own spot. Maybe Wendy's, now that they just started selling breakfast. Besides, Wendys and Lost Boys...., the HD crowd will fit right in! Just dreaming of Peter Pan, they are. ;)

Anybody that is going to buy an "adventure" bike because of looks, is going to buy a Beemer....or KTM....or Triumph....or.... I'm not sure why Yamaha stopped painting everything, and I don't like it, but, there's probably a reason that makes sense to them. Keeping the price down? Less maintenance? More rugged looking? My Cobalt Blue T12 is gorgeous, but that's not why I bought it over the other brands.
Mine is blue and everyone raves about it

Just like when I started the thread "V-Strom 1000 is dead. No longer being made." That ended up being 100% true.

Sadly this is the end of the current generation Super Tenere. Unfortunately, the members on this forum do not have the inside info like me. The same goes with the Super Tenere. It's a nice bike. My executive buddies at Yamaha USA have crunched the numbers. They are only going to roll out old stock until they sells. Then it will be no longer be sold in the USA. There are so many setting in containers the even my buddy Mike Chrzanowski cannot guess how long it will be until they all sell here in the US.

The good news is there is a possibility of a new model but that is still up in the air according to Terry Okawa. The new corporate office that was opened in 2018 (Marrieta, Ga.) is still struggling even with Jeff Young at the helm.

I am assuming this post was sarcastic considering there is an all new 2021 Vstrom 1000....

Yes it was sarcastic. BUT there is no such thing as a V-Strom 1000. As I stated and already knew it is no longer being produced. It is now a completely redesigned platform and motor. Only thing the same is the bore and stroke. All the V-Strom 1000's are old models previous of 2020.

Just to clear matters, this is the V-Strom 1050, new for 2020 ................... https://bikes.suzuki.co.uk/bikes/adventure/v-strom-1050xt/

It's not a bad effort if you want a reasonably priced pseudo adventure bike.

I ran a KLV1000 for a few years, a V-Strom 1000 in Kawasaki clothing, which served me well. Ok, a tad unexciting, gear ratios 1-3 inappropriate & poor bottom end fuelling; but it was comfortable, reliable & barely depreciated in the 3 years I ran it - swapped it for a KTM 990 Adv which I never really jelled with.

The vstrom 1000 is indeed the new 1050. They added a few features etc but the bike remains the same ol vstrom 1000 with a displacement bump and a few features. Same frame, suspension, even the engine is the same plus a displacement bump. On a side note, as mentioned earlier, if the bike is a complete new design, and only the bore and stroke are the same as the old bike... where does one find the extra 50cc of displacement if not for bore or stroke? And how does one overlook the pics of the bike in which you can clearly see the same frame and engine as the ol 1000?
Sorry, had to ask in case I’m missing something here...

You can't have a displacement bump without an increased bore or stroke, so it's probably just a name change in that case.

I can't see Yamaha killing the Super Tenere, especially with the T7 coming out. I think they are about due for an update though. Honda is jamming a lot of tech into their new Africa Twin 1100, and Yamaha would be smart to further refine their big adventure offering.
