A friend of mine here in La. got pulled over for a super bright modulator....
Whaaaat?! o_O Now, I understand that's LA, not TX....but, I've never heard/read about any legal issues with BRAKE light modulation. (headlight modulation is a totally different issue) I think the cop was just annoyed, like you were. And, likely bluffing. There's no difference between the modulator, and a person "pumping the brakes", except ease of operation. I've pumped/modulated my brake lights for years; with my cars, and bikes. My ST 1300 had an auxiliary brake light that modulated; installed by Huntington Beach Honda (HBH). No legal issues.

I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide.
Some sort of flasher on my bike when I bought it. Thought it was kind of silly till I dislocated my shoulder last week, and had my neighbor ride the S10 home while I followed in his truck. After watching it through 10-15 lights and such at night, Ill never own a bike without it.

Its amazing how much of a difference it makes on a bike.

The one I have flashes 10ish times fast when you first hit the brakes, then if you let up and go right back on, it will only flash 3-4 times. So its somehow "smart" to know how long you have been off of the lever or pedal. I dig it.

I hear you. Some of these cops do what they feel like doing. They can pull somebody over and hassle them for anything. All they have to do is say"I saw him swerve"

The one installed by HBH was similar to Kyle's. It would flash three times quickly, and then stay on steady until you released the brake(s). But, it was only a one-trick-pony, it did the same thing every time you activated the brake(s). Very bright, and very effective.
