That red pad looks comfy! ::008::

I've got an MSR Elixir 2 I'm hoping the new cot will fit in there. :-X
It is comfy, I found a tiny leak in the valve contacted Klymit and without hesitation they are sending me a new pad free and I don't have to return the old one..
Now I say other than Woody's Wheels Works whom I praise up and down for wanting things right nobody does stuff like this anymore.
I have three of the Klymit mats and this is the only one that gave me trouble. They are a weird mat not like bad weird it's a body weight distribution air mattress, you will bottom out sitting, kneeling and palming it. Lay on it and you will know what it's all about. rolls up a little bigger than a Nalgene bottle.

New pad free!! Now that is great service!!

I have 2 Thermarest both 25" x 77", one is 1.5", the other is the Mondo King 4", which I don't think I'll need if this cot works out well (I hope, I hope).
I'm impressed that your Klymit packs down to near the size of a Nalgene bottle. I got to thinking that sleeping mats are a compromise, one has to decide what is most important to oneself. Me, I like that my Thermarests are self-inflating, comfy, and provide some good insulation from the cold (the Mondo King is supposed to be about R-11, IIRC), but the compromise is that they take up a lot of room and don't fit in the panniers.

It looks like you may have the Insulated Static V Luxe model? How do you inflate it? Is there one of those bags you fill with air and squeeze into it?

Yes the red is the insulated mat you have to huff and puff a little this is the largest model they make 30" wide. You can get them factory refurbished for under $80.00 on the fleaBay.
Factory refurbished is what I buy because a human has to actually look for the problem. Holes unless found when you get it or within 30 days they won't cover, leaky defective valves as in my case a new pad. I dragged the big thermarest around for years but they take space and trying to get all the air out is a PITA. I am not a small guy so it has to be big as with most of my sleeping gear.
I have never found the perfect pad but this one once you adjust the air pressure like most pads is comfy. I like it's compactness as well.
Let us know about the cot when you get it.

Here is the cot:

With 25" x 77" Thermarest on top:

Slept on it last night in the breezeway, I was quite comfortable, and definitely better than sleeping with pad on ground. The legs made a little noise when sitting up, but changing sleep positions was quiet. I like it. I think this will be my go to nap surface, my couch is too short!

Yes it does make a bit of noise when your trying to get settled in.
But than again I am pushing this cots limits.
Waiting for good weather nothing but rain or insane heat.
My new Klymit replacement pad came in today..Sweet!

Re: Anyone try this cot?

Just decided to take the gamble and bought it. I'll report when I get it. At worst; maybe my daughter can use it.

Re: Anyone try this cot?

This came in a couple of days ago and had a chance to open it tonight. Review with pictures....
Packed it is 20 inches. When set up: 26 inches x 76.5 inches. Weighs a hair over 3.5 lbs.
Seems sturdy enough. I don't know what the real one is like to compare.
I'm 5' 10" and weigh 165 lbs. The directions are stitched into the carrying case. First time setup took longer but I bet it could be set up inside of 5 minutes. Tear down and packing the same. 2 of the cross brace parts have an extra cross brace. The directions say to use the double cross brace ones in the center. One can change the position of these to change where the firmness is more firm.

I was very disappointed the lady in the ebay listing was NOT included! This will affect my rating!! ::013::

Me too....when I was sixteen. :'( I'm too heavy, even for the "real one". I like the idea, but I think I would end up touching the ground. ::025::

Youse guys cost me money again. I just ordered this one off of Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073B1YD2W/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=AC8Q323FGRD88&psc=1

I've been using an inflatable mattress in the camper shell of the pickup and while it's comfy, it takes a while to inflate and deflate, plus running the compressor at the airport parking lot always makes me wonder who is going to notice.

The cheaper camp cots with the round doohickies for the rods are only 22" wide and I roll around at night so that'd be too narrow for me. In addition to being able to support 350 lbs, this one from Amazon is 27.5" wide while being only $80. It's also small enough to stash behind the seat in the cab and not take up a lot of space.

Two years on and while I've not used the Amazon version as much as anticipated, I've used it and loaned it, do still like it, and it's not broken.

Ha!! Problem is....she could sleep on it....or I could sleep on it....but WE could NOT sleep on it. Not with "only" a 350lb limit. Also, unless she is tall, I am dubious about the 75" length. Mr CW?

I've been using a Big Bear cot. Will handle your weight no problem and costs around $80. (ON SALE for $65 Here) Rated at 300#, but is very sturdy and will handle more w/o issues. This is no light weight backpacker cot. Sturdy! I never feel like I'm going to crash and burn getting in or out of this cot. And I'm no lightweight either. After I got mine, the wife stole it and I had to get a second one. She's only 5'4" and 140, but really liked the extra room and a bit higher off the ground. Set up is easy and fast. No struggle with tiny hoops or a handful of poles.

It does suck up some space on the tail of the bike. I put both of them in a duffel with the camp chairs and tent, ground tarp, etc.

New link.

Not sure what bad reviews could be offered. It's not a complicated cot. Nothing to break and has held up well for us for a couple of summers of camping use, including some longer trips. Worst thing is just the bulk when you're packing two of everything on one bike.

Interesting thread on cots. Never crossed my mind to get one. I was in the military the last time I slept on one.
