:'(Has anyone successfully mounted Tusk Panniers to the S10? I have the 37L panniers mounted on my WR250 but the racks will not fit on my S10 and since Tusk doesn't make specific racks for the S10, I was wondering if anyone has figured it out. Thanks

Re: Tusk Panniers

The sW Motech racks will bolt to almost anything with a flat side.

I have happy trails panniers and from what I have looked at those should work with Tusks.
Thanks. I was looking you at those racks so that may be a good fit

Re: Tusk Panniers

I have the same question... the Tusk panniers look quite sturdy... and the Happy Trail SU racks and puck system look good too, although the Happy Trail stuff is expensive - $289.00 for the racks and $38.00 for the pucks...$327.00 for the setup - which is much more than the panniers themselves ($220.50 for the large ones on Amazon...)

Has anyone come up with a less expensive workable option for racks?

Thanks,

I can honestly say the Tusk Panniers are awesome. But like you I'm torn because I dont want to spend $300 on a rack setup. The Tusk racks work great with their quick release system. Even if I was able to mount them on the HT or Givi etc... I think it would be hard to replicate the quick release system. The racks for my WR were only like $170 so I really hope rocky mountain ATV makes them soon for the S10. I called them the other day and they stated they dont have plans to make them but they do make them for the African Twin, GS 1200 and KTM so I'm confused on why they refused to make them for the S10. Maybe if enough of us call and request them they will start making them.

Re: Tusk Panniers

I just sent and email to Rocky Mountain:

sales@rockymountainatv.com

So...folks... please consider sending a request to build the racks for the S-10...

Re: Tusk Panniers

Hello Again,

Go4itms - how were the Givi racks to install? ...Also, I noticed that there is a latch mechanism on the PL-2119 - is that easily removable to make a flat surface for the Tusk cases?

Thanks for your help... this is the way I will go if install is not too much of a hassle...

Re: Tusk Panniers

So I just received a response email from rocky mountain customer support
"Thank you for your patience while we have looked into this for you. My technician informed me that this is something they are considering. However, they do not have a date as to when they will have this done. Please let me know if you have any questions"

This tells me they are strongly considering making these for us. I guess we could have these racks/luggage setup for around $500-550. I think that would be an awesome setup for S10 riders and nice, cheaper option than jessies or bumot. More options are always better. It would nice if we could get more S10 riders to email rocky mountain mc.

sorry, just saw your question. everything comes off easily to give you a clean surface to work with. racks bolt right on with no headaches. i used the coyote trips pucks because of the easy on/off feature and the ability to lock them on. i have a set of tusk panniers still in the box. A buddy wanted a set when i ordered mine, but still has not picked them up 10 months later. If you are interested, pm me.

As an update, I just emailed Rocky MTN ATV for an update to this question. They make the racks for almost all other large dual sports, seems silly not make them for us.

I have Metal Mule racks that I normally run Mosko BC35's on, grabbed an extra set of Mosko backing plates and used them to mount some Tusk boxes so I'd have a lockable storage solution for commuting and highway touring.

Tusk Boxes Fix up easy with Moose Expedition racks. I've been using them for a while, I just got the Moose 46 liter expedition Aluminum Panniers today for a little more storage, but I'm keeping the tusk's when I don't need as Much storage.

Did you use the glass filled wedges?
Yes, already had the wedges installed on the Mule racks as part of my original BC 35 purchase, just grabbed the frames (backing plates) to mount up the Tusk boxes for on-road use. (I always use soft bags offroad after I had the experience of nearly busting my leg making a dab in a muddy section with hard boxes installed!)

Ok that makes sense. For me, picking up some racks ($150) plus the mosko wedge system($270) I would have spend nearly $500 just to replace the OEM panniers with the tusks. Just trying to weigh the math. Thanks for the info
