Do you wear a 'flip up type' modular helmet ? What brand ?

I recently bought a NeoTec 2 after riding 6 years with an RF 1200. So far, I like it. Fit is good, its quiet, and seems to be high quality -- it ought to be at its price point. I came close to buying the Schuberth E1, but after reading some reviews, opted for the NeoTec 2. So far, its good.

I've been using a Nolan N104 for almost 5 years now, have about 50k miles in it. Over all I think it is a great helmet, excellent fit for narrower head shapes. Pinlock may be the single best innovation in visor technology in recent years. The Nolan B4 BT system is more expensive than third party units, but the integration into the helmet is clean and balanced. Battery pack is replaceable, still using original unit.

I picked up an N104 Evo with the B5 BT system last year for my wife, helmet fit is similar, but the B5 BT system has less complex comtrols and the integrated rear brake light (red) is really nice, especially when she is riding pillion.

Have been using a Neotec with no complaint for the last few years but it's gotten tired and is going to be replaced with a Neotec 2 and Sena SRL shortly. Haven't seen anything on this, but while contemplating the install it occurred to me that the battery is in close proximity to the brainstem. That'd smart if the battery ever had a bad lithium day.

I wore a Scorpion exo-950AT, last year, for a modular with a visor its actually not to bad for noise. never used ear plugs the whole season, at About 9500 kms not bad. would have had more but I had shoulder surgery in August.
this year I'm looking at the Caberg Tourmax. Anyone tried one? Opinions?

I tried a SHARK Evo3. I LOVED IT for about a month. Then it failed. You could not move the chin bar from front to rear without using 2 hands (so had to pullover. Company basically told me to pound sand on a broken 1 month old helmet. Thankfully Revzilla proved once again why its the only place to buy online and allowed a return no questions.

Right now using a HJC IS MaxII Like it well enough. Waiting for a sale on the NeoTec2 and Ill grab one.

I have had a Caberg tourmax for a couple of years now. First modular I have had and it has been great to remove my helmet and not pull off my glasses first. Nice to raise the front during pit stops to facilitate conversation. I have an Aria XD3 that I really liked, but rarely pull it off the shelf anymore.

It arrived wednesday. It's a really nice lid. Just finished installing my Pack talk bold, it's right there with fit and finish of the Scorpion, at950.
I just got pain white, cheap day glow ;)
I have not ridden with it yet so I don't know about how it is for wind noise, but just around the house its quite comfortable. Bonus it comes with a pin lock as well.

Got a Neotec 2 and SRL delivered yesterday. Ordered it in medium as I have 4 other Shoei's. As soon as I tried it on it was immediately evident that it was a bad fit, and not by a little. The original Neotec, as many new helmets are, was a little padding-tight and formed perfectly over time. The N2 was a much different story with the area that we measure for fitment feeling like a tight ring around my head. So much so that I could feel my head pulse and it became pretty uncomfortable with a minute. Strange. Literally every other medium Shoei I've ever slipped on fit very well. Had to check the box as it seemed to me that the incorrect size may have been shipped. Nope, medium.

Unfortunately this one of those times where thinner pads aren't an option as the tightness is above them. Would rather not move up to a larger shell size so Shoei may not do the job this time around.

Anybody else experience any atypical fitting issues with this model?

**Think I'll start a new thread on this.

Don't be so selfish Mimsey, go for a nice long ride in the rain and wind and let us know how it works for you. Inquiring minds want to know!

I went for 3 city rides with the LS2 Valient with ear plugs and it was nice an quiet. I have not tried it on the highway yet, and the weather looks crappy for 3 or 4 days, so hopefully by the weekend.

I was interested in this one since you can wear it as an open face with visor and sunny visor, or swing the chin bar back for full face. It is supposed to be one handed operation, but I dont want to fart around much while riding, until I am used to it. I have an oval head that likes Arai lids. This was was half the price of last Arai, so I am hoping the LS2 will thrill me twice as much!

I liked my shark (original ideal that LS2 is based on) It was just about the most perfect idea for a helmet. It failed on me getting locked in the rear position having to use 2 hands to unlock it. I may have to give the LS2 version a try. You could tell Revzilla video guy liked it better than the shark

I’ve got a couple thousand miles on my Bell SRT Modular, so far so good
And I’m still happy with it. I like this helmet a lot, especially with the ProTint transitions face shield (at extra cost). Even so it’s a lot of bang for the buck.

After Shoei having gotten back to me a bit slowly and recommending that I "add foam strips to the liner as a stand-off" I've decided to part ways with them and go with Schuberth. I've tried on the C3 Pro and R2 models and was very pleased with their fit, feel, and construction. Their new C4 Pro is expected here in mid-April so I'll go with that and the integrated comms.

I have the Touratech Aventuro Mod, which is based on the Schuberth E1 but with better venting. No complaints other than the pinlock seems to fog up on cold rainy days. The removable peak comes in handy for blocking the sun.
