Is the rider of the yellow S10 who was on Amboy Rd today (Sunday 2/25) on here? I was riding a black R1200GS.

Yeah. If they reduced it to $6000 it would be a deal. $6500 it would be the going rate. $8999 is a joke.

Yet NEW 2015's and 2016's are sitting in the warehouse unsold. Perhaps Yamaha didn't ship many 2017's to the US due to the overstock of previous model years, and now they've run out of the 2017 bikes

In all fairness to both sides of this argument .. I highly doubt a dealer would charge a Super Tenere owner 30 mins of labor to change a clutch.

If you compare apples to apples (wet clutch GS with wet clutch Super Tenere), the price for the BMW clutch is the same as the Super Tenere, around $400 installed.

None. Prior to the GS, and Super Tenere, I owned a 2005 R1200RT. I put 145,000 miles on it. Only non-scheduled maintenance I had to do was wheel bearings and the windshield mounting hardware needed to be replaced due to a crack in one of the mounting arms.

GS service interval is 6,000 miles. Valve check interval is 12,000 (GS) vs 26,000 (Super Tenere), but takes 20 mins versus 4 hours (?) I found the Super Tenere cost me $1900 in scheduled maintenance to own through 28,000 miles. The GS has cost me $1500 so far in 30,000 miles.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again .. having owned both a Super Tenere and a R1200GS, when dealer maintained by the book, the GS is cheaper to maintain.

$9990 is a great price, no doubt about it. BUT, it's probably also a realistic price to move the bike, and not hold onto it for several months, lowering the price incrementally until it sells. I think people see the asking prices for bikes, and assume that's what they're worth. I think the...

FYI .. and excuse this post, for those already aware. The salesman that sold me two of my Super Tenere's sent me an email today. In that email, he said that there are leftover Super Tenere's, model year 2015 that Yamaha is trying to blow out. He candidly told me that he wants to make $1000 on...
