I loved my 08 1200 GS as well, tried to buy it back but no luck. Kind of on the hunt for another, but prices are crazy high. The waterboxers are close to the same price so may take the plunge on one of those, unless my S10 doesnt sell. no big deal if it doesnt, I've just never loved it like most...

I got one of the bad batch of HiFlo filters too. Always had great luck up to this point, however this is the first S10 one I've used. I missed the return deadline so used my heat gun on it to install.

If its the factory tensioner you get the chain back on lining up your marks, then reinstall the RETRACTED tensioner and if everything is still good you push the cam chain guide back toward the tensioner as shown in the manual to release the tensioner to do its thing automatically.

No if you are going to remove the cams the tensioner needs to be removed ( after turning the crank to the spot specified in the manual) mark with paint before you remove the tensioner. Then after adjustment match up your paint marks and reinstall the RETRACTED tensioner if its a stock one. I...

There is about the same spread here in Ontario, Canada after conversions for the gallon and dollar. Sadly diesel is close to the same price as premium here too now.

I have a noco charger on the way that will supposedly bring a battery back from 1 volt and has a lithium setting. Heres hoping it comes back,and I didnt waste another $80 on a charger I dont really need lol...

I've done that with my lead acid batteries before but was a little leery of doing that with a lithium. I guess I have nothing to lose if it's outside on a non flammable surface lol

Mine was dead today after sitting one week. Not impressed. Measuring 6 v or so. No issues up to that point. My lithium charger won't start to charge at battery voltage that low

I'd like my 08 1200 GS back, and add a mcruise unit. I still have my spare final drive and driveshaft on the shelf. The internet paranoia got to me, and it seems like whenever i have a spare part I never need it lol... I also really liked the Versys 1000 I test rode.

I dont know about down your way, but up here in Canada our Shell premium was ethanol free until last year. If thats the case it might account for a bit better mileage as well. I always found worse mileage with corn gas,back when we still had a choice. For a long time our Shell business supplier...
