Any S10 riders based around Columbia SC?

Hello everyone, I'm brand new to S Carolina. Just moved to Bluffton a few days ago. I've ridden through N Carolina, Virginia, and eastern Tennessee quite a bit, but never in S Carolina. Hey Sorethumb, maybe once things get back to closer to normal, you could show me some of the good rides around...

former Ducati Multistrada owners now on Super Tenere?

I switched from a 2010 Multi to my 2012 S10. I wrote up a comparison shortly after I got the Yamaha. Here's the link http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=9140.msg151767#msg151767. Now that I'm almost 3 years into being an S10 owner I am seriously considering going back to the Multi...

    Rear wheel splash guard

The bracket on the swing arm fit well but it wasn't perfect. It needed to be made a little more secure to prevent the arm from moving in a vertical plane. I had an idea how I was going to do it, but hadn't gotten around to it yet. Yesterday I was anxious to get out for my first ride of the...

    Rear wheel splash guard

Well, it only took one ride and one very bumpy dirt road to total the new mudguard. I guess it's back to the drawing board for me. I stopped and checked it 2 or 3 times over the first 50-60 miles, it looked fine so I thought I was good to go. I went down the bumpy road without giving it a second...

    Rear wheel splash guard

Bikerdoc, your suggestion seems smart for someone who does a lot of offroad riding. For me, making this mudguard was just a motorcycle related winter project that I took on to keep busy during our snowy winter. I like the way it looks on the bike, and if it breaks, it breaks. I'll either repair...

    Rear wheel splash guard

Re: Rear wheel splash guard/make some for sale! I'm sorry guys, but I don't plan to make any of these for sale. This thing was a time consuming pain in the ass to make. Even if I splashed a mold off of mine, I still don't see how I could do it at a fair price? Materials alone would make it...

    Rear wheel splash guard

SuperTenSteve, you can easily find prefab material. Just google carbon fiber sheet. Multiple sources will show up. Just cut it to shape and you're good to go. CF can be dirty and nasty to work with, but I don't find it to be any worse than fiberglass. The key to success is a good quality vacuum...

Thanks for all the kind words guys! Dogdaze, I love your suggestion. I just may do that.

    Rear wheel splash guard

Well it took forever, but I am finally finished with the splash guard. It didn't turn out quite as planned. I had hoped to clear coat the carbon but that didn't work out so I just painted it. I don't think it looks too bad this way. Maybe I'll put a Yamaha sticker on it to jazz it up a little?

    How do you say Akropovic?

Well I guess that clears it up! Ahh yes. My apologies for the misspell.

    How do you say Akropovic?

I have an important question that needs to be settled. How do you guys pronounce the name Akropovic? Myself and my friends have always said "Ack-row-pove-ick." My wife works at a dealership that sells Can-Am products. In the Can-Am employee training videos for their machines, she says they...

    Rear wheel splash guard

It's funny how often these projects seem like they'll be pretty straightforward and relatively easy until you get started. This has turned out to be a surprisingly difficult one to pull off, but I finally feel like I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Once the epoxy sets up...

    DIY/Homemade Skid Plate

If your goal is to try and save some money for yourself, building your own isn't likely to save you much if any, especially on your first try. If the goal is to spend some quality time in the shop enjoying the process of designing and fabricating a unique piece for your bike, then what are you...
