Wow bike handles way better after weight loss

I love the handling when the tank is just a couple of liters off reserve. This has been the case with most of my past 750cc and over bikes. Also, a post Christmas diet helps as well ;)

    Hello from Italy!!

Hi Marco, nice bike. Beutiful area. As part of our 2015 summer tour we where at Lake Garda for 3 days, but a day temperature of 37C and heavy tourist traffic made it too hot to ride around the local roads, but we did see the area around the lake by boat. When we finally left to head back north...

Front Brake Fluid Reservoir Cap: JIS screws?

Best to invest in a couple of JIS screwdrivers, they do fit better than Philips. The ones I have can be used as impact drivers for obstinate JIS screws, though thankfully I have yet to need that facility.

    Im such an idiot

You can only have two keys programmed off the red master at any one time, if you do a third key the first one programmed is no longer recognised and becomes a blank again. Also, keep the red master in a safe place, do not use it as an every day key. I have no idea how much it would cost if the...

Life! (corona virus, non informative, non hysterical post)

Yesterday we went to the supermarket, all the bread flour had gone, and usually there is always bread flour. After this is over I bet most of it will end up dumped as half the buyers will realise they don't know how to bake, or own a bread machine.;)

TAll screen needs more and huggers

I fitted a Pyramid, it's about as much use as fitting an ashtray to the handlebar. This was after a short, mainly dry road ride with a couple of puddles.

Heated gear for a Super Tenere

Do you get 'Sealskin' socks in North America? If so I can highly recommend the knee length ones. You need boots that are a bit roomy, but your feet will stay warm and dry. Even if the boots are a bit leaky, the socks are waterproof.

    Tyre pressures

With a TPMS fitted, it's interesting to see how much the pressure changes with heat and altitude. The 33/43 on a mild morning soon becomes 36/46 if the air and road warms up on a sunny day. I have also had pressurs as low as 4 psi down on both due to a cold night, but after half an hours ride...

What is a high mileage for a Super Tenere?

My 2011 (bought in 2013 with 2k miles on the clock) has done 40000 miles, and apart from a couple of hard stars, no problems. It seems low milage for it's age, but I was running 2 other bikes (now sold) I didn't commute on the ST, so it's always done long trips. It's now in for a full bearings...

Sorry, that was a bit cruel of me.;)

Yamaha Super Tenere MOTO-TAG photo game

2015. Parked up at the 'Camino del Rey' in Spain before hiking it with my son. It was the place where some of "Von Ryans Express' was filmed. Walking only. The track is still in use.

    Touring or Sport mode

I only use "S" when in the hills on the twistys. Living in the London area, too much easy acceleration + speed cameras,(some set as low as 20mph in central London) can soon have your licence, hard earned cash in fines, and insurance cost going through the roof.

Headlight Protection - Grill vs. Lens

The clear was on the bike when I bought it. It's marked as not for road use but I have yet to have someone in "authority" point this out (also the price of a new HL unit makes me come out in a cold sweat) If it gets too many fine scratches I'm thinking screen polish or T-cut should bring it...

    OAT coolant

No mechanical reason, no more than I changed the turn indicators for LED's, fitted a gear indicater etc. I just find something to do. And as the coolant has a long life, it may be one thing less to do in the future (Yes, I have just contridicted myself;))
