    Suspension adjustment

My adjustment had to do with the original thread post. 6 clicks out on the front compression and rebound and 6 clicks out on the rear as well. I failed to make that clear as others were also talking about raising the forks. That I haven’t done.

    Suspension adjustment

Should have made this adjustment years ago. Really made a difference on some uplift seams in the asphalt. Before the adjustment it felt like I was about to get bucked off. The Tenere is much more compliant now.

No start and Fault code 14 after valve adjust

Well, I got all the codes cleared. However the bike did not pass the leak down test. Cylinder #1 was fine. I could put over 55psi in the cylinder and the valves would hold and it would try to push the cylinder back down. Cylinder #2 did not pass the test. It wouldn't hold over 25psi and was...

No start and Fault code 14 after valve adjust

Its not under extended warranty. I changed out the CCT about 3 months ago because it had been making a bunch of noise. I didn't have any issues re-timing the cams then. The intakes do have some carbon build up. Not a lot but probably more than A bike with 24,000 miles should have. Does...

No start and Fault code 14 after valve adjust

Ok. Well, I'll admit that having the cam timing that far off that I might have bent some valves if this unit is an interference motor. I'll read the service manual. I do have a leak down tester and a visual probe I can use. It'll be tomorrow afternoon till I get to it. Thanks everybody for...

No start and Fault code 14 after valve adjust

Well, after some inspecting and checking, I decided to complete a compression test. 85psi on cylinder 1 and less than 50psi on cylinder 2. I messed up bad. preliminary reports indicate exhaust valves on cylinder 2 but would have to complete a leak down test to be sure. Where I went wrong was...

No start and Fault code 14 after valve adjust

So this is a follow up. I went back and checked my cam timing. I was off. Thats my fault and got that straighten out. Hopefully I didn't cause some internal damage. The fault code is now gone. However, I still can't get it to start. I've got spark and fuel. It just won't grab. Any...

No start and Fault code 14 after valve adjust

Carl, I've checked the hose and even replaced it thinking it had a pinhole. It was not clogged. However maybe there is something intermittently blocking the bottom of the sensor. Thanks for bringing that back up. It's going be a few hours before I get back to it. Family obligations.

No start and Fault code 14 after valve adjust

I have started to pull everything back a part for a double check. This morning the code was gone until a attempted to crank then it came back. There was fuel in the intake and one of the plugs was wet. I havn't checked spark yet.

No start and Fault code 14 after valve adjust

My Bike is a 2012 model year with 24,272 miles. Is there possibly a fuse for the fuel injection system that could be broken? I did remove the battery to so the tray could be moved around for timing the cams.

No start and Fault code 14 after valve adjust

The pump definitely kicks on. Going to pull the side panel tomorrow and make sure i didn't inadvertently pull a plug out near the ecu. Seems like the fuel injectors are not firing. I've rechecked all the plugs going into the throttle body.

No start and Fault code 14 after valve adjust

Hey Everybody, Will a fault code 14 (air pressure sensor) result in a no start situation? A little background, I completed a valve adjustment this afternoon. Double checked all my work. When I completed I started getting fault code 14. Ran it thru the diagnostics and it says its ok but still...

    Camshaft timing marks

I solved my own problem. Line up the "K" on crankshaft thats in the the clutch housing. The intake cam marker lines up with the cylinder head surface and point back toward the rear of the engine. The exhaust lines up the same way only faces the front of the bike. Hopefully some one else can...

    Camshaft timing marks

My camshaft chain jumped some teeth while I was trying to replace the CCT. I have the timing mark under the clutch cover lined up with the T and the crank halves. However I'm not 100% sure how the camshafts marks go. Do they both face each other pointing inwards toward the middle of the head...
