Ended up texting Chris this morning to which I got a reply. £450 to do a tune now. Bit more than expected. Having a think about it.

    Hi from UK

Been meaning to take mine. Still got my Arrow downpipes to fit too, but want the bike set up with them. So I’ve just mailed them to see if they’ve any slots available next month. Hopefully they’re a bit better at communicating than Wiz is. Gave up on him.

So on the Sunday morning we got chatting to the main campsite warden. She lost her husband to covid in 21. He was a long time GS owner and she mentioned she’d not managed to sell his trailer. Turned out to be a motolug and at the asking price I couldn’t refuse it. Getting it home was...

Whilst in Wales we had a day on the Ffestiniog railway, the wife paid to go in the first class observation carraige. Not cheap, but more comfy and with better views, and we got to see the engine up close on the return leg. Thursday we had a day at Portmeion. I had actually booked an afternoon...

Just back from another Easter in Wales with our Moho, towing the bike behind. This year we decided to stay on the mainland rather than Angelsey. So we stopped for the week at a site just outside Portmadoc. I was going to take the Tenere, but going on the 30th meant taxing it for just two days...

    The anything thread.

This one failed at 115k, on an RS though. No interest by the dealers so my mate had to import a good used rear end from Europe. Also know another chap with a GS where the caliper came away and wiped out all the spokes in the rear wheel and also shattered the final drive. Dealer blamed the tyre...

Never seen one of these before HONDA CTX1300

It’s what we got yes, no idea if others got full power versions, be surprised if they did. Honda do it all the time. Hornet 900 with detuned Fireblade motor of around 100hp iirc, Firestorm motor in the Varadeo detuned to about 90 ish. And so on. sorry looks like I exaggerated, 83hp according to...

Never seen one of these before HONDA CTX1300

The biggest issue was that in typical Honda fashion they in their daftness decided that owners wouldn’t want 125hp, but would easily settle for just 95hp:rolleyes: If only they had the mind to carry over a lot of the mods to an updated ST1300. I actually really liked these and if they had...

    The anything thread.

My second 1150 sheared it’s input splines. At the time BMW didn’t have any so it took a while to find a good sh gearbox instead. Sold the bike a year later and about 18mths after that the new owner contacted me as that one had sheared as well. I’m hoping my 850 gives the splines an easier...

Zumo XT: Homemade mount with extra retention features

I made up some security brackets for my XT, copied a simple design I saw somewhere. It’s only really aimed to stop the opertunist, on petrol forecourt etc. Done two for my S10 and old GS, got one more to finish for my Pan.
