I haven't had to replace my S10's bearings yet, but on other bikes, I've pressed the stem out of the triple which takes the bearing with it, then refitted it. May or may not be appropriate on the S10, TBD. Some heat from an electric heat gun helps too.

I like the Montana 6xx of which I have a couple that have navigated a few 100k kms to date. An SW Motech mount. to which I added a lump of delrin and a Garmin rugged mount. I also switch the mount's power supply from a separate switch so I can leaved it booted for as long as I like...

The DR's gearbox fails are random and likely the result of an under designed gearbox. Nova reckons the gears are too small for a 650 single and as such any QC issues are critical. The shafts are too close together and the cases too narrow. Sometimes its a 3rd failure, sometimes its something...

I've run a pair on my S10, and a rear or two on my DR790. They will once again appear on my S10. I'm a bit tyre agnostic, and have a dirt bias with my selection, buying whatever is a deal on the day. Next up, once I start riding again and finish off the current combo, is a BS AX41 front and E09...

Once I got mine sorted, my best ever bike, so far. Reengineered frame, fuel range, suspension, Nova gearbox, 790 top end etc etc. Over 160k kms now, albeit somewhat of a grandfather's axe.

I've been running Mobil 1 75/90 gear oil with no apparent issues. No particular reason, other than I use it elsewhere and have it on the shelf in the shed.

I have no problems with chains. They're only dirty if you over lube them, and rarely need adjustment, and once they do, its usually time for replacement. The shaft setup of the S10 still needs lubing and oil changes, and the seals leak from time to time, they're not maintenance free.
