The Triumph scrambler would be awesome as a second bike along with a Tenere. I would not want to accrue major mileage on one though, as the seat is a horrendous creation and wind protection is non existent. A friend I ride with frequently has a scrambler and a Bonneville and the key drives him...
If you put Givi monokey racks on your bike, then you can put a huge variety of cases on there with little effort. Their Canyon soft bags also are locked down, so they are a lot harder for someone to walk away with (though those soft bags don't quite clip onto the monokey racks, they will mount...
I would try adding 5 lbs. of air to a flat tire with a hand pump and consider whether you'll live long enough to fill a flat tire to 40 PSI with a hand pump.
I can't understand how in 2024 we can get a new bike with throttle by wire that doesn't have cruise control. This is a swing and a miss by Honda as far as I can tell.
No, a riding buddy has been lusting after one for a few years now and needed some help loading. He made it 3 days into ownership and there's a warning light, though I think maybe it's for the key fob battery.
Lousy headlights aren't exactly a "it's broken and it doesn't work" situation.
The hard starting also has a solution that doesn't involve a repair and it's rare enough that getting a bike to the dealership that will actually do this on demand is difficult. For the 50,000-ish miles I've put on...
Well I couldn't stop him, we'll see how this one goes.
For anyone looking at one of these, Triumph decided to copy Harley with a damped trunk mounting plate, but it seems to rattle around on its mounts, so maybe go with the setup directly from Givi.
I cannot ever remember reading a thread on any Yamaha bike where problems persisted that the dealership couldn't sort out. I do remember a few FJR members who had to print out Yamaha tech service bulletins to provide to their dealers, but not much beyond that.
I have also noticed that the...
I have a local riding buddy who has been hunting down a Tiger 1200 for a while and I may be going a state away this weekend to grab one. I have gone with him to look at a few of the big and little Tigers as lightly used bikes, and all but one of them (out of five samples) had at least one dash...
Assuming you haven't had the brake switch recall done, you're unhappy with reliability because of a fork seal that leaked (you can run a seal mate around them usually to fix this on the road) and throttle response in 6th gear?
Really I wouldn't be disappointed in fork seals lasting about 20,000...
Another option worth considering is a ruggedized android phone. Oukitel makes some waterproof phones with very, very large batteries. The last one I had could run a nav app for 12+ hours without being recharged. They also have some waterproof ruggedized tablets.
