I am going to the NHRA races Aug 2 and then everyone I am riding with is going

Home (Saskatchewan Canada) so I am going to burn it south to see the spruce goose, any other ideas. I have seen St Helens, but will stop by again when I decide I want to go back to Sask. I may go further south to see the Redwoods at Cresent City. Anyone in the area want to skip work? (2 Aug I...

Tenere handle bars and posture, comfortable or not

OK I went with the Rox risers, it does feel more natural now. But I need more testing. The trip to Seattle July 30 will be the test. ::021::

    quiet windscreen?

I had the tall 26 inch parabellum, it was excellent, but the other day it broke when I crashed at 10 mph in wet grass. The tenere was fine but the parabellum cracked I assume from the side being hit. I am now trying a MRA from tourtech. It looks nice but is shorter but I have the adjustable...

Comparing a Super Tenere to a 1190 KTM from an average "C" rider

A few days ago I was thinking of how fun it would be to ride that KTM. Today while crossing a hay field (k60 tires) sport mod and traction control off the Tenere hooks up rarely. Loved every minute of it. 150 HP wow. 100 hp still really to much off road unless I put 6inch nails in my tires...

Tenere handle bars and posture, comfortable or not

Not sure what you mean by the last sentence. Perhaps your arms got longer and hairy? My family dumped that gene a few millennium ago. Just looking for options. On my KLR 650 I had a 12,14,14 hour days in a row, dont let the number of posts fool you.

Tenere handle bars and posture, comfortable or not

I noticed a few conversations about the Tenere handle bars, and would like to adjust mine. However to what I am not sure. My last long trip the back of my neck and head gets stiff and sore after a few hours. Never noticed on my other bikes, plus I had Jaw surgery a few years back so it could...

    The cost of cheap tools...

Well that is the last time I use a torque wrench on small stuff. I have hand tighten many drain plugs and thats the first one stripped. I must admit the "feel" part from some of you is a No brainer, but it was an attempt to do it by the book. "Epic fail"

    The cost of cheap tools...

When I bought my Yamaha I decide to get a new torque wrench as well. Well my first oil change I pulled out my new wrench and adjusted it to spec and proceeded to tighten the oil plug...no strip it. I was P....ed. I checked the specs, checked the torque wrench setting, all was good, and then I...

    A Real Dirty Comparison Test

I watched a KTM 990 and Tenere in some sandy hills. Same result, the big boys made it half way, the 800 bmw made 3/4 and the 650s to the top. That was the average after a few runs. I get a kick out of the pictures of guys riding the bikes though "mud holes ". Here its mud, deep mud, clay...

    best tyre

If you want to wear out a tire fast, drive on gravel. A better word may be sand paper! ::009:: I wiped out a few days ago, came over a hill and it had rained locally. Our gravel roads have no shortage of clay. I dumped the bike when the front tire failed to grip a .5 inch deep rut. I had lost...

    XT800Z

I hope it's true, a 800 to replace my wifes klr650, ::015:: that would be the perfect two bikes 1200, 800. I really wanted an 800 in the beginning, so this is great news.

Am I the only guy hooking his pant leg on the shifting linkage?

I guess I'll just tuck the jeans in the boots, I use Swat boots for riding, hard toe and all that. 99 percent of the time i wear all my riding gear. ::021::
