Could the rearset cause the grip to hit the tank? OE is real close to the tank, and, after looking at my bars today. . . . if the bars are pushed toward the tank any further. . . .I think the grip could hit the tank.
Thanks for that Sierra1 hopefully it will be ok.

I forgot to state, but, I'm sure you understood. . . . the issue would be at full lock. (left or right)

The Up-and-back risers arrived today. First impressions are they are well made and look a solid piece of kit. The polar opposite of that is the cap screws they supplied. They are utter wank and no earthly force could convince me to keep them, except only for the purpose of taking pictures.

Good bits: quick delivery, good price, well manufactured, good fit, ergos feel great but a test ride will be the true test, no collision issues evident.

Bad bits: supplied cap screws, may need to tweak the throttle cable routing as they are a bit tight on full right lock.

Nice!!

What about the clutch/brake hoses? Are their lenght okay?

Have you been using the bike for some days now with this riser? What you think about the throttle cables now?

Hoses and cables are fine. I realised that I had the bars tilted too far back! Once I had rotated them forward to the correct position everything was ok again. I confess that I haven't used the bike since I fitted them. I'm a wuss, so the weather is only just improving to the point where I'll use the bike. I'm just going through the routine service stuff at the moment ready for the spring.

Nice!

I bought a set of those to check them out

So is anyone running the Protaper Adventure High bars AND Helibar risers? I like the pull back on the Helibars, but I could use a couple more inches of height for them to be more comfortable on my arms for longer hauls. I'm not a particularly tall person, or even long-armed, but I feel like even with the Helibar risers, my arms are more comfortable about two inches higher, at rest. If anyone is running both, can you give me an idea of if you needed to get extended lines or if the standard Helibar adjustments + extension worked with the setup, at full lock?

wanted to share some comparison shots between the stock bars and the protaper adventure high bars, I wasn't able to find any prior to my purchase so wanted to share. These are nice due to the height no need for risers like alot of the others and the lesser backwards sweep make for a much more comfortable hand position.

Sorry, I posted mine over on ADV Rider instead of here, since I got no inputs from here, I figured this was a dead thread. Mind you, mine are only the regular ADV vs OEM

@Jdubco and @elricfate thank you both for posting this up, the visuals are just what I needed.

What did you guys do about the control pods locating pin holes?

Advrider going to mega threads makes it damn near useless when searching now. I've been on there since the beginning, real bummer with how they've killed it as a tech resource. Much more useful here in this format.

I just clipped them off, nothing has moved since I changed the bars. If you're super duper concerned, you could also put a layer of self-stick silicone tape on the bar directly underneath.

One bike, I just did a single wrap of electrical tape, after cutting the pin off, nice to hear I'm not alone doing this. :D

so with the stock bars i basically feel like i'm being pulled to the front of my seat. i rolled them back about an inch and it felt much better, but my controls just kiss my tank in that position at full lock, so i'd rather not run them there.

These seem like a good option, i see that most of the aftermarket bars have nowhere near the back sweep of the stockers, but with some extra height i should be able to rotate them to a good position. These work OK with stock control wires/cables?

They work OK with standard cables and wires, but I had to move the top front brake pipe behind the yokes. Everything works OK but I will be getting a new slightly longer top pipe to re-route it back to where it should be.
