Hi all.
Seeing that on this forum we cover a lot of the world and having a lot of different cultures I would have a question for you guys...
Motorcycling speaking:
What is the place you must go?
For us Italian ( and I guess for all southern European riders) Nordkapp in Norway is the Mecca.
Being the most northern spot on Europe (not really really) this where a rider is supposed to go....
What's yours?
Thank you for your reply!!!

My motorcycle dream is Nepal. Going there with only hand luggage, landing in my favourite hotel in Kathmandu.
Take some money and buy a local Royal Enfield and start your adventure. Enjoy the serenity of Nepali and the food.
It is a real dream. I have been there three times so far and can’t get enough of the interesting cutural meltingpot.

I know somebody from here who decided on a life change and moved there to work in a place that rents Enfield and leads tours.

Good for him, but I never ever settle for being shown what another organises for me to see..
That’s also the main ingredient to the decision of getting an S10 in the first placeF449C4E3-04A0-49F8-90CD-85D59F1092C3.jpeg

Norway has been one of my lifetime toppers, 9 years ago.
I've only done it by car with my daughter but South Africa was pretty awesome.
Canadian Icefields Parkway is a must for North America.
Thailand was fun just because it was so different.
Same with China and I wish I could go back to see Guilin but that's not going to happen now.
I had planned to ride Croatia and Greece last year then COVID hit.

Currently I'm looking forward to finally riding the Big Island in Hawaii.

Scandinavia for me, but mainly Norway and the Nordkapp. Should have gone July this year, COVID said otherwise. Now pencilled in for 2023, perhaps next year depending on other stuff.

Canada next.

Romania, the Transfagrasan and Transalpina are also calling.

I did a trip across Germany to Berlin, up to Rostock, across to Gedser in Denmark, across the bridge to Malmo, up to Grums and across to Oslo.
Then west via Morgedal (home of skiing) and down to Stavanger in order to visit pulpit's rock.
Then down to Kristiansand and over to Hirtshals in Denmark, down to Hamburg, then home.
Admittedly it was done in a car, but I'd do it again on the S10.
The reason I mentioned this route is to point out that there's loads to see in Southern Norway, crossing all the mountains in that region it's like fjords are everywhere.
It took 11 days to do the 4000 miles, probably a couple of weeks to do it on a bike.
Sweden a bit interesting, especially the two lakes area in the south, but the real gem is Norway, I found Denmark totally uninteresting and flat.
A memorable trip that needn't cost the earth.
Norway can be reasonable if you shop around for accommodation (for example the guesthouse in Mordegal cost about £40 for a double room).

My dream destination though, is across the "Stans" in central Asia, then perhaps India or ideally (if I can find others to share the cost of crossing China) on to Vietnam

I occasionally have couch surfers so IF you're vaccinated and not allergic to a house cat I'm right in the middle of all that, pass the Monocacy battlefield every couple of days, was at the Antiedam battlefield last Sunday. got ice cream in Boonesboro after crossing the MABDR, & will drive by Mt. Vernon later today (Washington must've slept in every 4th or 5th house around here.) The Smithsonian has a "few" museums and don't forget to check out Annapolis or Fort McHenry if in the area.

For North American based riders, Alaska is a popular Mecca. Fits with the theme of going as far north as you can. It’s on my bucket list.

I want to go everywhere, can't say there's a single specific spot I dream of.

Alaska, backroads of South America to Tierra Del Fuego, European Alps, central and south east Asia, and on and on.
Don't forget the Dolomites ;)
