I've been contemplating a new tank bag, but haven't been able to find a lot of Tenere specific options/opinions. I thought perhaps in the vain of "Show Us Your Panniers" a "Show Us Your Tank Bag" thread was appropriate?

So a simple picture thread to compare what's out there and help others like me decide what set up to choose. Post up your pics: Side view, Rear View, Brand and Model, size, brief pros/cons you may have.

To start here is the Yamaha factory tank bag: Pretty basic tank bag, a little big for my tastes. 3.6L expands to 8.6L

Here is the Mosko Moto Nomad (now called Nomax). I love the organization of this tank bag and it's extremely well made. I love this bag on my F650. Don't love the way it fits on the S10 and would like something a little bigger longer trips. 7L (according the website, I'm not sure I believe that)

Sweet Mosko bags! I use the BC35 panniers and a couple different tail bags from them. Great gear!

I use an SW Motech Tank Lock Bag. I used this bag on my Stelvio. Bought a new ring for my Tenere and transferred the bag over. I wish Mosko would come up with a quick release ring system. Anyway, this bag works great for me. My son put some 3M clear bra film on the tank to protect it from the abrasions.

15 liter GIVI tankbag with tank ring lock, it’s also expandable with a zipper to make it an inch or two taller but I have never used that feature. The clear map pouch has always leaked but nothing actually inside the tankbag has ever gotten wet. It came with the first 2013 Tenere I bought otherwise I probably would never have paid the extra money for a tank ring lock but after using one it’s most likely what I would choose if ever buying another tankbag, I have been using this one for 80,000 miles.

SW Motech City Pro for me too. Used Wolfman on all my DS bikes for decades and tired of the straps. Went with Famsa once I got into S10's in 2012 and was completely pleased with them, but they're no longer available. The SW bag, although smaller is very nice so far and especially rapid for fueling. Unfortunately, about 10% of its storage space is necessarily lost due to the somewhat large indentation on the bottom side to accomodate the mounting system.

As I am in the U.K. And on a budget I am torn between the OE Yamaha bag and the Givi EA118. I think the Yamaha one looks the best but would prefer the Givi tank lock system. Never having had a tank bag I am worried about the longevity of the frog clip etc on the Yamaha, the bag rubbing the paint and magnets maybe not so good as the tank lock system...

I would just prefer the OE Yamaha one, shame you cannot put the Givi tank lock system on the Yamaha bag!

EDIT... it doesn't take long to read when Googling that the Yamaha bag can move around if you have heavier stuff in it, whereas the tank locks bags are totally secure. Givi for me then.

Over the years I’ve owned 3 different tank bags, the first two were magnetic and worked great but back then I didn’t ride a lot of dusty gravel roads that could possibly cause paint damage if it got between the tank bag and the paint. After using a tank ring lock bag for the last 80,000 miles that’s most likely what I would buy if I ever buy a new tank bag.

I've seen the City Bag with the Yamaha logo on it. I'm honestly not sure where you go to get one. I've had a City for five/six years now.

I just bought the Givi EA118. The Camelbak Milspec 'Short' 3L reservoir fits perfectly in the bottom of the bag.

I use the next-generation version of the same tank-bag that Dons 1911 uses.
SW-Motech "City Pro"

It does not touch the Tank at all, even when full.
The bottom of the "Pro" version is more rigidly formed.

@skunkworks
It's also expandable.

@SkunkWorks how is your visibility to the panel with the City version and would the size be conducive for their map holder addition? I’m contemplating going with the next size up but don’t want obstructed view to the panel. Thanks

No obstruction at all.
I don't currently have their map-holder, but that wouldn't cause an obstruction either.
You could use a taller tank-bag than I have and still not block view to the dash panel.
