Hello has this forum lost the ability to edit a post?
You can only do so for 6 (?) hours. There were some issues in the past, so they put a limit on the time to edit. If you need a post edited, hit the "report" button, and request the change. The moderators will make the change.Hello has this forum lost the ability to edit a post?

It's gonna depend on when the Mods get the request. I've had my changes done quickly, and some the next day.I did report and so far no response.
Are you supposed to "report" the edited text of the new post you want or just what you want removed?
This seems like a stupid policy and is very confusing. How can somebody make something as simple as a motorcycle forum so complex?
ETA: So if you're the OP the post you make is etched in stone? You can't delete the thread either? WTF?
if you want, you can "replay" your own message and make the modifications in this new message. but the original message will be set in stone, because it “also generates responses”. If you modify the message "after the answers" ... these answers would be out of place ... for example if I post a saying "with a friend, enjoying the sun"This seems like a stupid policy and is very confusing. Yeah I guess so. This falls into the debate of who owns the content, the forum or the OP.It's gonna depend on when the Mods get the request. I've had my changes done quickly, and some the next day.
It didn't start out that way. There was a very. . . . um, polarizing. . . . thread that caused angers to flare. One, or more than one, member went and deleted every one of their posts that they ever made. . . . on the entire forum. "There's always going to be one person that ruins it for everybody else."
The time limit(s) on edit, and delete, is the same. The report option is always available.
No worries on my end. Thanks for helping me out with my editing issue.Right now, we have 2 moderators, myself and Checkswrecks. I typically check the forum in the morning (west coast time, unless I'm traveling for work), while CW seems to check in more often throughout the day, and he is on the east coast, mostly. However, there are times when I get busy and I'm not able to log in for a day or two, and I know CW is on his way to the camp out this weekend in South Dakota, so our response time may not be that speedy. I know Venture was working on bringing on a couple more mods, but I also know he is extremely busy and doesn't spend much time here.
As far as the identity of the forum, our goal is to be THE resource for the XT1200 Super Tenere as well as to be an open and welcoming community. And I know that our members is what makes that possible. I am certainly willing to revisit the time limit policy on edits.
Aaaargh. . . . prepare to be boarded lassie.. . . . And why've I never seen that chick on my boat?
Umm - Never mind
So it is always, my dear friend, they are always in someone else's boat. And the day you get them to get on your boat, they are already consuming oil and need a rectification and change of pistons and ringsAnd why've I never seen that chick on my boat?
