This Wednesday I took the VRO Risico course which teaches you to scan situations for hazards and how to act on that. Has got a lot to do with where you ride in your lane. Found it eye opening en fun!
Added bonus is that the €255 course is almost completely paid for by the government. Only €50 for the attendant.
Full day and good lunch!

Does it give you an insurance break also? Our MSF courses do, and the government doesn't think enough of those to help pay for them.

Yes it does, when you are with certain insurance companies. Government believes strongly that certain courses make a big difference. And for that reason one can take 1 course with subsidy per year. I plan on doing exactly that as long as they pay along.

Very similar to over here. We have courses called "Defensive Driving". You can take the class once a year to remove one citation from your driving record. But, there's no government subsidy, although our courses are much cheaper.

Ah and how many did you need to take to keep your license ;) ?
When prices are low, more people can participate and that makes it safer for everybody. Including the non-participants.

W-e-e-e-ell. . . . by the time I got to Texas, I had matured somewhat. But, while living in the state of Washington, I would get a letter from the state (on a regular basis) warning that if I received one more citation in the next 90 days I would be suspended. It seemed like every day 92 or 93. . . . and I'd have start all over again.

It's not like I committed violations every time I drove. . . . but, every time I did commit a violation, I got caught. But, I never ended up getting suspended. :)
