When will Canada let me in?

We must have met at Bend. I was the guy replacing my ST1100's front wheel bearings in the parking lot of the Motel while it was raining! I was not able to attend Kimberly as I had a last minute work emergency.
Ah yes! I do recall that. I also recall the group acting like hoodlums "testing" an off duty LEO's laser gun in front of the motel. :)

I’ve managed to make it to most of the Tenere meets held so far, everyone I’ve met has been an enthusiastic rider. Everyone is too busy riding and bullshiting to politicize anything.
Deep down I believe that, especially in a face to face setting. Just annoyed that a basic question started to go sideways. Sincere kudos to @Sierra1 for reining himself in. :)

Yeah, that was fun, too bad I was busy with my repair at the time. I recall Becky Dunlop, on her VFR800 (or was it a 750?), beat all the ST1100s on top speed by about 10 MPH.

I've been trying to get a trip up to Radisson and check out the St James Bay dam project. Was hoping to it last year, but that got derailed. Not sure it will happen this year. Might swing down to the Hamilton/Niagra Falls are to visit family graves and see what the old family business is doing now (long since sold by my uncle). But all depends on the border situation and finding a spare 10 days or so.

Enough! Enough with the attempts at sarcastic humor that DO NOT translate when written, enough with irrelevant posts that don't answer the question in the thread opening topic, and quite frankly I have had enough of the few pot stirrers here who can't leave well enough alone. My approach to moderation has always been "he who moderates least, moderates best," but with the constant need for myself and CW to step into nearly every thread lately, this doesn't feel like the community we have had in the past.

Just another FYI (relevant to OP's question):

My father and his wife are currently in the process of making their way across the country as they're moving to Nova Scotia. Even there, they are having to quarantine for 2 weeks in New Brunswick and are not sure when they can enter NS at this point (they are driving as they are bringing a horse). After their 2 weeks in New Brunswick are up, they still don't know what the timeline is for NS which is one of the most restrictive places to get into.

BTW, the army was apparently manning the check points between Quebec and New Brunswick. So, they are taking crossings between those provinces seriously.

So, please folks, have some patience. Things are improving every week, but just watch the news / government sites and try to enjoy some riding around where you live / can travel to without problems :)

Thanks :)

If you are passing through to Alaska then it's legal!!
Post a link so we can read how that works.
I went to the official Canadian government thread linked by @magic , and the answer was maybe you could cross through to Alaska. The only thing right now that can be done if you want to cross the border is to continue to check official resources for the US and Canada.

I also went through and did some serious pruning in this thread. There were a couple of posts I did wrestle with whether or not to remove, but as it sits right now, I believe the thread's relevance to the original question has been restored. I have also posted a new announcement in the Site Announcement sub forum about any further politicizing of threads where it isn't warranted.

I would love to visit Canada. When I first left the UK my first stop was in India, where I met a great couple the Shepherds from Vancouver. I am sure everyone knows them. We met and travelled, off and on, for their three month trip.

Since then, during my travels throughout Asia I have made good friends with three Canadians - one who sadly just died - and met many more, all of whom were great people. Must be a great chilled place to live!

The border closure restriction expires every 21st of the month, I think.

Given the vaccination rates, politics, and public opinion, you might see it end in July, but I doubt it myself.

August at best, but my bet is September.

Lord knows, I need to find good tacos bad, they think taco bell is Mexican up here.
