Well... soft things don't scratch up the area as much. And seasoned travelers don't put their bike key in a pocket, but clip it to the outside of their jacket when they are off the bike. That way you never have that age old problem of getting your gloves on and having your key buried in a pocket.

Two keys only... regular ignition key and a shorty version of the same key on a clip for tank and panniers. Clip also clips to jacket, though my clip is a bit small for gloved hands. Rubber fob so keys can be held in my teeth. 20210406_213322.jpg

Isn't that s-biner the one that comes with a Swiss+Tech LED flashlight?
I don't use an S biner, but the one shown by thuges is a Niteyes product available at Home Depot.

My valet connector is a standard key shop item. The fabric part on the keys was a freebie from some event.

One key, on a flash bang ring, with the white plastic tab that advertises the dealership. Eric's right about more stuff. . . . more scratches. I do put my key(s) in my pocket. . . . harder to lose. My pre-ride routine includes me placing the key in the ignition (but not on) before I put my gloves on.

Now. . . . my Jeep key ring is a different story. Ignition, gas cap, and lock box. Only the ones that I need. You too can get your very own F-Bomb at Rangerup.com.

I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide.
Pro tip for S clip users. If it is going to be a mostly permeant situation (that you can still get off easy if you need to). Slip a piece of heat shrink over the side you have clipped to the jacket or bag and shrink it down. Prevents it getting bumped off, lost a few on bags over the years until this. clip.jpg

Lanyard for me. This is not mine in the pic. Only the bike key and goes over the offside mirror and slips back thru itself before inserting key (my Brasilian friend told me that this is how they do it there and seemed a sound idea)Lanyard.jpgDifficult to steal, drop into a recess, or lose....

so many good ideas ... I like them all, fron S-clip to the minimalist rope, Im going to check that this week because a solo key could be lost so easily, thanks for the ideas guys, and stay warm on the roads.

Are those your keys to the S10?? here in the EU we have way different keys, much prettier to be honest.
I'll make a picture when i'm home again.

Now to the subject: just a small dealer tag.

US doesn't have chipped keys for the S10... I think this is true for all years? Yours has a chip in it, so I guess with the added cost they make it pretty. Red is the master or something and shouldn't be used to prevent loss. Black is for use but not copyable. Double key allows engine to produce 10 more HP.

EU Key (DP046 model) and yes I have to clean it.
ps : I also have a double AND a RED key, what is it ?
That's the one i have too. The black is indeed an extra, the red is the master like GAPMTN1 mentioned.

Didn't know about the difference between EU and US keys... but i lik the 10 horses extra ;)

what size is the S-Biner? And how well do you like that size?
Not sure, it's just something I picked up at the Home Depot on a whim. It's large enough to clip it on to anything I've ever wanted to clip it on, haven't wanted for a larger/smaller one.
