I have never seen a blue X85 Hurricane. I'm thinking someone repainted blue from orange and called it an an X85 instead of X75. I always wondered why they called them Triumph instead of BSA as that is a BSA motor.Went to Triumph Live about 7 yrs ago. This was parked in the car park. Best bike i saw all day.View attachment 78257View attachment 78258
Ok, I first thought it was a "Boss Hoss". then realized it was Triumph. Rocket 3? With a turbo? The exhaust looks waaaaay restrictive for the motor. Is that a normal front end? I've never seen the Rocket in real life.
I'd say supercharger.......the exhaust does not appear to be plumbed through the forced induction system?Ok, I first thought it was a "Boss Hoss". then realized it was Triumph. Rocket 3? Duh. You're right. I was thinking centrifugal supercharger. . . . but, typing turbo.I'd say supercharger.......the exhaust does not appear to be plumbed through the forced induction system?
That's a beautiful bike, slightly customized. I think BSA actually owned Triumph from 1950 to about 1972. I sure enjoy my 2 Triumphs, a Trident and a Bonneville. I'd trade both of them for that Hurricane.I have never seen a blue X85 Hurricane. I'm thinking someone repainted blue from orange and called it an an X85 instead of X75. Its the motor from a BSA Rocket 3 i believe. I too only ever seen them in orange. I do love the blue though.I have never seen a blue X85 Hurricane. Yes it was. If I remember correctly, it was designed by Craig Vetter. I think there is a U.K. company making the kits for tank and seats now although the forks are longer than a standard Triumph Trident or BSA Rocket 3. fac191 is spot on, it was the inclined Rocket 3 motor that was used in the original rather than the vertical Triumph Trident. The later Triumph T160 had the inclined motor after production of the BSA ceased.I think it was mostly for the American market but you get a few over here.
