. . . . I check the weather frequently, hoping for a warm day (5 C or what y'all call it 40 F?) . . . .
That's my new minimum temperature; I used to ride in the 3-4 days we get that are below freezing. Your summers make up for your winters. On the flip side, our winters make up for our summers. The ones to be envious of are the guys on here that summer up North, and winter down South; best of both worlds.

Only if you are wealthy and are able to either, fly your bike to the U.S. or you fly from Canada and rent/buy a bike in the U.S.
If possible, (currently not possible) I would rather go to New Zealand for our the northern winter...ah New Zealand is the best country in the world...
If only I were a younger man

Even tho it could be 40 here in Denver on a nice sunny winter day, lots of times, depending on the elevation you go to, some of the valleys and or canyons could be 10-20 degs colder. That is at a stand still. At speed the temp starts to drop dramatically. Check out a windchill chart. When I was commuting to work everyday, and better aclimated to the colder temps, 25 was the lower limit for no heated gear. That was for a 20 minute ride. Anything under 35 now requires the heated gear. I must be getting old....

A quick ride on sunday afternoon.
You can see the Nevado de Toluca (Toluca Volcano) in the State of Mexico in the central of Mexico. It has 4600 meters above sea level and you can drive to the 4000 and has a incredible view of the Toluca valley.

I sure hope this don't get me blackballed from this site! HaulBikes still has my Super Tenere in transit to me (running late), but I really like these pics from today's ride with my son and thought I'd share...Mods nuke it if need be! Or pretend that the green Stelvio is a '17 S10, Desert Tan in color...

First time in a few weeks that I've ridden in temps that start with a 4! Seen a lot of teens and twenty's these days. Anyway, we did one of our favorite afternoon rides today, up to the Albeni Dam. It's about 150 mile loop for us, and can contain dirt, gravel and/or just pavement. We went down one of the dirt roads but turned around as it was pretty icy in the turns where the sun don't reach. Real cool area, and you can camp on the other side of the river.

Dropped the last family off at the airport, came home, did some cleanup, then rode this afternoon. Florence, Riverside, Superior loop, plus some trails opposite Picket Fence Mountain.

That is a crested Saguaro. One of two I've found in the wild.

That crested is awesome! I have only seen those in pics, never in the wild! Great find! Wish I was close, I'd love to see that!

This one is 7+ miles east of Florence. There is another one East of Roosevelt Lake on the Road to Young (288).

I had almost forgotten that lovely sound of rocks clunking off the skid plate!

Just 55 mile round trip, over 2 1/2 hours, Trail 172. Made it about 2/3 up Montana mountain. A few other vehicles out, I actually passed a couple smaller dirt bikes. Getting my trail legs back. Some fire damage from summer wild fires. My son got me a fitbit for Christmas. Turns out throwing the beast around can be a pretty good workout! That peak rate was a hike up a hill to grab pictures.

Nice pics guys! Man oh man how I miss the desert. Those Saguaros are awesome!

Hey @eemsreno , those look like E-07+'s, at least on the rear. Is that right? And if so, how are they in the snow? I have run down a set of E-07's but never ran them in the winter. I was pleasantly surprised at the traction offered up by the Michelin Anakee Adventure on my Stelvio.
