I’ve never been to one of these meets, is it normally just off pavement or mostly on or maybe different style of rides for different groups?
Camping? Motel?
The one in TN I attended I think most people camped. Camp fire at night. The campground had a few super small cabins. Most in tents. On/off road. Group or solo. First time for me. Good group.

I enjoy camping for sure. Some group meetings I’ve been to all were hoteling it so I stayed with the group. Need to start preparing the wife so when it gets here she’s all good :)

i enjoy tent camping , hotel motels when needed....to keep it simple I suggest find a place to camp with shower and restrooms , those who want a room make their own arrangements . I've never been to the Dakotas so I'm in in pencil. start working on my trip budget . from my house to surges is 1034 miles , break that down into 3 easy days traveling going up and 3 days traveling coming back down , figure 3 days some where in Sturgis area , extra day off at home before going to work . so 10 days I will need .

From what I seen out there last fall , this looks like the best place to have it.

Nemoguestranch – YOUR BLACK HILLS VACATION HEADQUARTERS

Nemo Guest Ranch & Campground - Deadwood

I will call them after the holidays and see what they say.
I stopped in here when I was out there and they even sell the off road permits. You have to have a permit to ride even the jeep roads or ATV trails.
They even rent Side X Sides there.
They had nice looking cabins "from the outside anyway" a nice tent area. a nice store, and I think there was a restaurant just down the road.

I just checked and the Sturgis Rally is Aug. 6th --15th. Another possibility would be to have our rally starting on the 16th. Monday. Most of the Biker dudes would be gone by then.

I stayed in Deadwood on my way to Alaska in 2002 I am ready to return. I use to organize a weekend motorcycle event here in Texas . I picked the place and time that was convenient to me and if it worked for others fine if not no worry, I suggest you do the same.

so google maps said its 1240 miles from my house to sturgis . not sure why it gave me 1034 initially ..... still a 3 day ride , could do it in 2 but why ? I have found for me it seems to be about 100.00 a day budget works out fairly well . so 10 days 1000.00 bucks .

636 miles for me. Easily done. I suggest a place where we can camp as one big group. I’m in and will make this whenever.

That looks incredible.

Lets please put as much space/time between sturgis and this as we can. Been there, done that.

It’s about 1200 miles for me, before Sturgis work best for me, but 16-18 I could make work Thursday I have to work an event in Kansas. Do what works best for everyone. I like this pot camping looks nice and a shaded tent area. One thought is before Sturgis rally may be better for us on the camp cleanliness if that matters. I figure the staff will be wore out after the event and the grounds in ruff shape. Just some thoughts.

Edit: last year Yamaha was set up with the t700 doing adv rides during Sturgis. Might see if we can check when they arrive and leave and that could be of interest

Yes. Its a disaster zone for weeks after sturgis, most years.

I'm for having it as soon in the spring as possible everyone is ready to come out of hibernation and do some riding.
I need to call them and see what they say first.

I've ridden dirt bike with my daughters in the black hills. we'd go the week before Labor Day - not too hot, not crowded, small chance of rain. It was perfect from us.

I belonged to the Minnesota Twin Cities Trail Riders, and they would use the Nemo guest ranch for rides in the black hills. Very rider friendly.

That being said, if you do the last week of august, i can't attend 'cause Montana State will be in session, and no vacay when class is in session. Too early in the season (april, may), and I might still be snowed in. If i can make it, i'll attend. Losing my second job freed up summers. Yay!

I'm IN if the dates align with my schedule next summer!
I love the Black Hills (as long as it is not near Sturgis Rally time)

I would go a little later, hopefully allowing vacines to get effective and allow me to finish the season in AZ. But if Steve organizes, it is his call. Once the snow melts, he'll be off...
