They seem to be by new members with their first post, some forums ‘hold’ the first post until approved by a moderator for this reason. More work for the moderator tho......

It does seem to have increased. I just put it down to people trying to pay the bills since they're out of work. I read an article that the homemade web cam porn industry has skyrocketed during the covid outbreak. Just working from home.

How to trust in a product that this type of people offers, when they lie/hide to moderator of their true intention, when subscribing to this forum. ..... Are they not hiding / lying also something about the product they offer?....Surely some positive result will have. But maybe they don't measure the rejection they generate....but since they don't measure that rejection ... they think they are doing things right....so they keep insisting.

Such is the pent up demand for CBD oil - I hadn't realised.

It's a sad that these guys see fit to infest our forum & drive us towards considering control measures.

Our spam filters are actually pretty good, but they are not perfect. Questionable posts get flagged into an approval queue, so we moderators can review. Most of the time its a simple matter of clicking the "Spam Clean" radio button and clicking Save...

Reporting spammers also helps for the few that do get through.

I'm a moderator on a 13K member facebook page and average blocking around 20 spammers a day. It's sort of like mice getting into your house, once you get too many of them, they will just take over.

As AvGeek wrote, the filters have been pretty good and what gets to the open forum is a small fraction of what gets stopped or brought to us for approval. Really appreciate those of you who do hit the REPORT click when you see something.

Anybody interested in a LOT of Keto ads?

The latest ones I took out were for Kevin Costner CBD oil...I guess some celebrities will slap their name on anything!

We have multiple spam filters running. On a normal day there are around 10 spam registrations that I have to nuke. Some slip through though, nothing we can do except maybe require a first post in the members intro board, but all that would do is localize the spam.

Personally I'd say we are doing a decent job at controlling it. Please keep reporting spam when you see it. If it gets much worse I'll take additional measures.
