Wasn't that for the early 2012 models? I don't think the 2013 had that recall.

Correct. By 2013 they'd swept all the early bikes and the factory was installing the new ones right. The issue was simply a person installing the o-rings had twisted some so they swept all that he had put in.

This thread has been made into a sticky, meaning that if people want to find it, simply go to the "Super Tenere Discussion" sub-forum (the one we are now in) and it will always be at/near the top of the list of threads.

I see the edit option on your original post, is it not in the lower left corner next to your location?

It's there until somebody posts after you, at least on my computer. Admin might be different.

As Helimark already mentioned, there is no such thing as Gen3. Since when did different colors qualify to class something as a new generation?
Didn't they go CANBUS in 2017? Not sure if that qualifies as a Gen3 though, more like a Gen2.5 I would say, unless there is significant wiring changes as a result?

Just my tuppence worth...

Doubt they went CANBUS, that would mean a completely different electrical systems. What they did do, is change the ECM (or reprogramming) on the European bikes to satisfy the current emission requirement in order to sell them. Not sure if this was the same for the Canadian bikes. American bikes have no change.

If they were to do a Gen 3, I could see them going to a CANBUS, which would make changes easier in the future, but the cost would be pretty significant, and it would need to be on all their bikes to be cost effective.

Does anyone know what time of year Yamaha introduces their upcoming models?
I'm looking to replace my 2015 ST only because it has high mileage but I just can't fall in love with the 2019 & 2020 models with the blue rims and gold forks! -JEP-

While it hasn't been officially discontinued, I'll bet money that there won't be a 2021 Super Tenere.

I had heard that rumor and asked the factory rep at Daytona. He said that as far as he knew there would be a 2021 model. -JEP-
